1970 Roadrunner Build

Are you sure the temp sender is doing it's job?

You can check the gauge by quickly grounding the sensor wire. If the gauge goes to hot it is working and probably the sender. Don't keep it grounded or you can fry the gauge, just a few seconds.

Thanks. It is a new sensor but I haven't spent any time inside the car just yet but will.I did test it to ground and nothing so I need to dig into the cluster.

Is that ketchup or catsup? lol

There is an electronic gauge voltage regulator mod you can do to replace the points style unit, makes the gauges rock steady.

Only the best acid to clean! Do you have a link to said mod? I suspect the regulator was bad since all were dead.

I did this on my 62 and it is going strong. Your 3 prong setup looks the same. I found my parts at Mouser. I used some old pistol brass flattened out for the plug in connectors.

Thank you I will look into the upgrade. I did assemble with the old regulator and nothing so not going to mess with it any longer, nice trick on the pistol brass.

I have had a lot of cars and several I got back running after very long coma's (VW bus sat since 75 is the longest) but this one has become my favorite. Even thinking of selling one of the garage cars to allow some covered parking. I did the headlight polish trick on the bezels and they turned out great.
Also could not resist to let it move on it's own for the first time since 88. No brakes still, waiting on hard lines from Classic.

Year of make tag and dealer frame installed. Easiest install so far on the car.

Valentines came early for the roadrunner courtesy of Acme.
Was doing the brakes this weekend and felt like a fool when I pulled the new hard lines out, apparently I never ordered the rear lines so the wait to stop continues.

Had to make a run to summit last night. They actually stock the front to rear brake line and fuel sending unit, Will have to ship the main fuel line and rear end hard lines but no charge so much cheaper than dealing with classic's oversized shipping.
Getting closer now, maybe the rest will come in by the weekend.

Brakes all done. Everything feels really good there.

Need to drain the tranny. Seems like it is not building pressure or low on fluid. Also Have to rev the engine a good bit for it to move. Had an odd symptom the very first time I cranked it, spit fluid out the dipstick tub on the firewall, so it has several things going on I need to research.

The engine did sound really good revving it up under load though.

Getting brave and taking it out the driveway. Still need to play with tuning as it breaks up a little at low rpm, above that it is all business. Finally got the exhaust leak taken care of. Still tons to do but pretty fun to drive it out of the neighborhood, except for the exhaust slapping the floor it rides pretty good. Tranny seems to have to build up pressure, seems weak at first then stronger.

Out with the antifreeze gallon jug gas tank and in with all new lines and tank. It will have to come out when I start metal but wanted to be able to go more than a couple miles.

Nothing like School bus yellow Slapper bars that do Nothing for Mopars

They look bitchin though!
I think so, goes with the car.

Figured out the tranny issue, kickdown not hooked up. I did not know it's full purpose until doing some research, seems very nice now, strong and shifts really good. Still chasing a low end miss that clears up at 1/2 throttle. It has shaken more dirt from it's undercarriage than you can imagine. Did have to exit the main road on to the cart path after meeting a sheriff's car while doing shake down run. Need to get lights working then insured and tagged.
