I'm sure there are more of these 1979 Chrysler 300s out there, still on the road being enjoyed but over the last 2 years or so of my search (with the help of some here) there seems to be less than 300 known to exist

Got another one for you...I am the owner.

SS22K9R214547

The vehicle is in great shape, VERY low mileage, still all original.

Nice thanks! Do you have any pictures to share? Could you message me with your name and where the car is located?

With the 5 digit being "K" tells me it's a Canadian 300 trim/appearance only car with a 360 (LA) 2bbl engine. Yours lands at #195 on the list increasing the total to 221!

Well, I am a bit hesitant about sharing too many details. It has 3,027 kM on the odometer and still 100% original. I currently have it in a climate controlled storage facility; I will be bringing it home soon as I now have the room to store it properly. I offer the following : a shot of the VIN on the dash & picture circa 2013 (Yes, I have the hub caps, they are in the trunk)

Oh, BTW....yes, that is the original color, Chianti Red.

I haven't seen many of the rare Chianti Red '79 300s! I have heard and read that there were a small handful painted red from the factory, this one having such low mileage makes this a unicorn of sorts! The "K" in the VIN indicates a 2bbl, can you confirm?

Yes, it is a 360 w/ a 2 barrel carburetor. I have a letter from Chrysler in 1980 that confirms the production numbers of the 300, and indicates there were only seven (7) of the red ones produced.

I reached out to Chrysler Historical about 3, 4 years ago. I have a letter also confirming that there were 3,811 300s built in 1979. Some were built with a trim package only. I have been looking for these cars for about 3 or 4 years and have only been able to find 221. Out of those 221, 51 have been confirmed to have been crushed or in a salvage yard. Yours is only the second Chiante Red on so far.

Messages have been sent out to all of these! Hopefully they all respond and I can add them to the list!
