Congrats to both 'alsant' (FBBO) and 'stroked340' (FABO) for sharing the Top Qualifier title for the 2015 Carolina Nationals with an outstanding total of 28.0 bonus points. They both have the same picks: the #1 qualifier in both Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle, the #2 qualifier in Top Fuel and the #8 in Funny Car.
'OldmanRick' (FABO) took the runner-up spot with 27.5 bonus points.
Great picks all!

Only 17 active players this week including late picks posted by 'johnnycuda' (FABO). 7 players did not post any picks so will get zero (0) points for this event. As posted in the season opening game rules, and re-posted several times over the past weeks, the "pick carry over" feature ended with the US Nationals.

22 different driver combos this week made up of:
* 5 different Top Fuel drivers. No Round 1 head-to-head matchups, but a possibility of one head-to-head matchup in Round 2 of eliminations.
* 6 different Funny Car drivers with one Round 1 head-to-head matchup between #7 qualifier Matt Hagan (4 picks) and #10 qualifier Cruz Pedregon (1 pick). There is also a possibility of two head-to-head matchups in Round 2 of eliminations.
* 5 different Pro Stock drivers picked this week with one Round 1 head-to-head matchup between #7 qualifier Jason Line (2 picks) and #10 qualifier Allen Johnson (3 picks). There is a possibility of one head-to-head matchup in the 2nd round of eliminations.
* 5 different Pro Stock Motorcycle riders picked with one Round 1 head-to-head matchup between #5 qualifier Matt Smith (1 pick) and #12 qualifier Hector Arana Jr. (3 picks). There are no possibilities of a head-to-head matchup in Round 2 of eliminations.
Good luck all!

Nice job aslant!

Ugh....my picks were ugly this week. Only one round win total out of all 4 of my picks.

Here are the results and point standings after the first race of the "countdown" following completion of the Carolina Nationals at Charlotte:

Congratulations to '71dartswinger' (FABO) for being the top picker this week with a very nice point total of 130.5 points. He picked the class winner in both Top Fuel and Pro Stock, and his Funny Car and Pro Stock Motorcycle picks both lost in the second round of eliminations. His point total was helped with E.T. bonus points in Pro Stock Motorcycle.
Nice job!
'67cudafb' (FABO) was the event runner-up with a very nice total of 123.0 points. He picked the Pro Stock class winner, both his Top Fuel and Funny picks went to the semi-finals before losing and his Pro Stock Motorcycle pick went to the second round of eliminations before losing. He was also helped by E.T. bonus points in Pro Stock Motorcycle.
'Nick2317' was the top FBBO picker with 112.5 points.
Great picking all!

Here's where the bonus points were earned if you picked the right drivers:

Top Fuel
E.T. - Clay Millican, 3.758 during qualifying
Speed - Doug Kalitta, 322.11 during Round 1 of eliminations

Funny Car
E.T. - Tommy Johnson Jr., 3.971 during qualifying
Speed - Del Worsham and Tim Wilkerson, 318.32 during qualifying

Pro Stock
E.T. - Greg Anderson, 6.524 during qualifying
Speed - Greg Anderson, 212.66 during qualifying

Pro Stock Motorcycle
E.T. - Eddie Krawiec, 6.851 during qualifying

No rest because the 20th race of the 2015 season, the 4th annual AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals, is next weekend, September 25-27 at Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, IL.
As always, your picks need to be posted before Pro Qualifying starts on Friday, September 25 in order to qualify for all event bonus points. Pro qualifying is scheduled to start at 3:15PM CDT (1:15PM PDT).
The Midwest Nationals entry list is posted on NHRA.com and currently shows 15 Top Fuel, 17 Funny Car, 17 Pro Stock and 21 Pro Stock Motorcycle entries. As always, the class counts are subject to change.
PLEASE keep checking http://www.nhra.com/events/entrylist20.aspx for an updated entry list.

Several changes to the game now that we are in the "Countdown":
* The "carryover" feature that was in effect during the regular season to ensure that all players had picks for each of the "regular season" events will no longer be used for the remainder of the season. This was originally posted in the game rules at the beginning of the 2015 game.
* What wasn't posted in the original game rules, but going into effect because of multi-week "carryovers" by several players, is any player with two consecutive "Countdown" events without posting picks will be dropped from the game for the remainder of the 2015 NHRA season. 'bobtile' (FBBO), bvt69dart (FABO), super-bee_ski (FBBO) and YoungGun74 (FABO) neither posted new picks nor notified me of new picks or wanting to "lock in" their prior picks for the Carolina Nationals.

Get your picks posted and GOOD LUCK!

Here's your Tuesday before the event reminder to get your picks posted before the start of qualifying for the 4th annual AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals at Gateway Motorsports Park in Madison, IL. This is the second race of the six-race Countdown to the championship.
The first round of Pro Qualifying is scheduled to start at 2:45PM CDT (12:45PM PDT) on Friday, Sept. 25.

As always, PLEASE check to make sure your driver is participating at the Carolina Nationals.

PLEASE check http://www.nhra.com/events/entrylist20.aspx for an updated entry list.
NHRA.com currently shows 18 Top Fuel, 18 Funny Car, 18 Pro Stock and 16 Pro Stock Motorcycle entries. Check my other recent posts about this event and you'll see how the entry counts are continually changing.

Remember, the "carryover" feature from the earlier events this season is no longer in effect. No event bonus points if your picks are not posted prior to the start of qualifying; and no points for the event if your picks are not posted before the start of Sunday eliminations! If you miss posting picks for two consecutive events during the Countdown, or do not have "locked in" picks, you will be dropped from the game for the remainder of the season. We have several players that missed posting picks for the Charlotte race - they'll be gone if they also miss the Midwest Nationals.

Post 'em up and good luck!
