Congrats to 'Budnicks' (FBBO) for earning the Top Qualifier title of the 2017 NHRA New England Nationals with a nice total of 22.0 bonus points. He picked the #1 qualifier in Top Fuel and the #3 qualifier in both Funny Car and Pro Stock. Way to go!

Some unusual goings-on this weekend during both qualifying and eliminations let a "blind squirrel" find a nut and 'ocdart' ending up being the "Top Picker Eliminator" with a measly 106.5 points.
'cuda20' was in the runner-up spot with 105.0 points. 'alsant' was the top FBBO picker with 90.5 points.

Post your picks for Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle.
The NHRA.com website currently shows 15 Top Fuel, 18 Funny Car, 15 Pro Stock and 21 Pro Stock Motorcycle entries.

Englishtown is always both quick and fast with great times but this weekend may prove to be a challenge for the crew chiefs. The current weather forecast shows partly cloudy with a high temp of 74F on Friday, sunny on both Saturday and Sunday with high temps of 81F on Saturday and 87F on Sunday.

There might be some changes to the Top Fuel and Funny Car entries at the Summernationals this weekend according to what I just read on Competition.com:

* Jonnie Lindberg is supposed to be back competing in Funny Car starting at the Summernationals although the class entry list on NHRA.com doesn't list him
* Blake Alexander is currently shown as an entry for Funny Car but will switch over to Top Fuel if he is able to complete his class licensing requirements today. If he can't get his Top Fuel license completed today then he'll compete in Funny Car for this event.
Update (06/08/17): Blake Alexander got his Top Fuel license and will be competing in Top Fuel this weekend in a Worsham family owned ex-Lucas dragster that Del Worsham purchased.
