Ugh - this is such media generated hysteria!

Racing postponed! :BangHead:
oh well...

I wonder what the make up dates will be ?

probably better to be safe then sorry, after the fact...

a bunch of new cases has shut down a bunch of events
racing, Basketball (I hate anyway), a bunch of concerts or mass gatherings etc.

No Nitro classes will be racing at the 2020 NHRA Gatornationals this weekend. That portion of the show will be rescheduled to a later date due to the current Coronavirus outbreak.

Please repost your race picks whenever this event is rescheduled. I will post a reminder at that time.
See y'all next month (hopefully) for the Denso Spark Plugs Four-Wide Nationals silliness from Las Vegas.

So, did anybody watch the Dixie Vodka 150 eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational at Homestead-Miami on FS1 today.
No, it wasn't real racing but it was fun and very entertaining to watch.
THANKS to all those involved in putting this on to help us satisfy our racing bug during this unprecedented time.
It would be great if iRacing.com and NHRA would develop something similar.

I haven't even turned it on in so damn long,
I'd probably suck

but I got on here instead

2020 will be an abbreviated 19 race season, 2 events have already been completed.
There will not be a point re-set after the U.S. Nationals, nor will there be a "Countdown". Each round of racing is now more important than before for the points to determine the series champion for each class.
Our "Pick 'Em" game will follow the same format.

I will post a "Tuesday-before-the-event" notice before the Gatornationals. I will also use your already-posted Gatornationals picks if you've already posted them. You are welcome to to post new picks if you want or keep what you've already posted.

I can't wait to get going again!

that's pretty optimistic & hopeful thinking schedule

But I too, hope it will be over by then
& they resume racing

Very nice article on Kenny Bernstein, "Where Are They Now", on competitionplus.com...

http://competitionplus.com/drag-racing/news/where-are-they-now-kenny-bernstein
Thanks for that

pretty good read

I always like Kenny, also Dale Armstrong his long time crew chief
& The Bud Man cars & his late 80's early 90's
as they deemed "Batmobile" F/C's, wild, big winged
& big down-force wedge style F/C's, long before everyone else did it

many complained it wasn't fair & it cost the lessor teams
too much $$$ to catch back up, especially with the understanding/uses
of the aero-wars era & down-force

My daughter and I went to Indy in 2009. After qualifying on Friday or Saturday night, we went to a Bob Evans for dinner. It was later and there was hardly anyone else in the restaurant. They ended up seating us in a booth across from Kenny and someone else (I forget who was with him). Earlier that day it was announced that he had just landed a major sponsorship with Coparts. Up until then he was saying he was going to retire if he didn't find major sponsorship because it was over with Bud and Monster. So we're all just sitting there having quiet dinners at our tables and at some point after awhile we connected visually and I jokingly told him "congratulations?" He smiled and thanked us and we had a little chuckle and a short conversation from each of our tables about him not retiring now. He was really nice, and without saying it, I could tell he appreciated that we were fans but we weren't bugging him. Just people having a nice little conversation. He came across as a genuinely nice guy who wasn't all full of himself. It's a fun memory for me and my daughter.

Announcement out of Glendora today said the current 2020 NHRA season is planned to resume in August - with fans in the stands.
The season will be an 18-event schedule, including the 2 events that have already been completed. All events that were rescheduled for June and July have now been cancelled, including the entire 'Western Swing'.
It looks like the balance of the season will be in the midwest/east to help consolidate travel and cut expenses.
No "Countdown". It's going to be an old-fashioned points race to the end.
Of course, the final two events of the season will probably still be Las Vegas and Pomona.
I will post the schedule as soon as it becomes available.

hope they can get some season back

too bad they skipped the west coast swing

hope they stay way away from southern Ohio, Chiraq, NY or NJ area too
all heavily populated & hard hit areas for Covid BS

I still wonder if they will even have any racing,
especially in-front of fans not just racers & family...

I guess we will see in August,
they were supposed to start back in June
IIRC no fans at 1st, slowly work back to normal
I guess that's out of the plan now...

we'll see when the time comes
I hope they get back to racing too

in the scheme of things
I guess that it's not all that important, to most the country
but it is to me & my sanity
