2nd opinions please

Nothing like a new turquoise 440 engine! I would like to see that 62' savoy. In High school working at my dad's station, 1965 or so, a house painter had a ratty 62 savoy painted with house paint, and a ladder sticking out the side window. He had a really hard running 413 in it, and went hunting for all the snooty kids in the new muscle cars, and wax them! He loved doing that.

Here is my ratty 62 but I doubt it'll be dusting any new muscle cars and it has been washed since the pic was taken

Hopefully your rod bearings are also. They must have revved the crapped out of it.

I spoke with the owner today and even though they won't admit to the damage, we did come to a cash settlement to avoid litigation. While not 100% happy about it, I am satisfied with the agreement. Now it's time to get it fixed and no more letting anyone else put their dicky little fingers on my car.

I'll be finding out later this week once the motivation to work on it returns. I hope it's not hurt too bad and is an easy fix

Glad to hear you got some resolution, Charlie. Good luck with the repairs.

Start by sending them a USPS certified letter; be specific with pictures and documentation. Set a dead line and stick to it. File a lawsuit and you could get triple damages. Give them 10 days to respond. Do not send regular mail because they will deny you ever contacted them. Next, if your state allows you to record your conversation then do so. In Texas, it is a one party state and since Im the one party; I record. It is really funny to see the persons face when they deny the conversation in front of their boss and then you play it.

A settlement is an admission of guilt. Glad it worked out for you, but be sure to keep us informed as to what you find inside.

Don't know how laws in Indiana work, but here in Pa. we have a thing called the Attorney General where papers can be filed. If he reviews the case & starts action against a person or business he won't be ignored or there will be a warrant issued. Hope this whole situation works out in your case because the whole thing sucks. Like I once told a dead beat, slow paying customer of mine "don't be afraid of me, be afraid of the people I can call".
