4" speakers fir dash on 73 charger

Has anyone had any success fitting two 4" speakers using the two speaker adapter on a 73 charger?

I did on mine. You have to cut back two of the ears of the speakers to make them fit the oval of the dash hole. If you are going to come up from the bottom when you fit the adapter use flat head screws to mount the speakers to the adapter from the top. Then some thin foam weatherstrip around the top of the adapter to guard against possible vibration. Mine is already in so I can't show any pics.
