426 Hemi Blocks are back!!!

I am not sure i agree, since i am running the Jessel Rocker system with a street roller. What other engine has the same short intake and exhaust runners? You could say the cost of building a Hemi is crazy at 30,000.00 for a basic engine/
I'm really talking about all out race engines where no or little maintenance for a 1,000 miles or more. Yes you can run a race engine on the street but it's rough. When I was younger I'd do (try) it, guess I've hit geezer status.

Thats great to hear but Hopefully the picture isn't true to what there going to look like kinda reminds of the old mega blocks which leaves you out in the cold if your looking for the more original correct restoration look.
The picture is correct. The big plug on cylinder Passenger side is in the water jacket.

I think GEn III was meant here by the snakster
If you look at the Gen II it has squish chambers like a wedge head to help with emissions.

remember the Gen II baseline was for unblown

post geezer here

I remember when the earlier G2 blocks were coming out in the 90s. Most were so poorly cast they were trash out of the molds. Many could not be bored at all, simply because of core shift. Pretty much all of them had major machining issues that needed to be corrected. So you had to remachine the new block. So I'll wait to see where this goes. I would not want to be buying anything from the first batch, that's for sure.

Gen IIIs are as described earlier - wedge chambers with dual plugs. Well engineered but NOT "hemis". That all has been marketing.

Geezer here with a blown megablock,,,,2nd gen.
I have huge respect for the 3rd gen!! They have those cars in the 8's already!!

HEMI-ITIS, good looking motor there. how do you know what size blower to go for on a build.

  • 10.275 in. Deck Height
  • 4.240 in. Bore (up to 4.560 in. with additional machining)
  • 4.500 in. Maximum Stroke (up to 4.750 in. with additional machining)
  • Up to 10.2L of Displacement

It is wrong with Deck Height? Stock Hemi should 10.725“. Can anyone say me, Casting number same as original Hemi (2468330)? Can anyone write what is quality of Block?

What can one of these blocks handle HP wise?

And can someone school me on why the gen 3 hemi isn’t a real hemi?
Very simple the combustion chambers on gen III are wedge style. The Gen II and Gen 1 are Hemispherical a true 1/2 of a ball for simple terms. Gen 3 have squish areas on both side of valves

You might want to check with Jegs again. Know of a few guys that have them on order and Jegs just canceled their orders. Block is not available .
