Dave I wish you luck on the 426 Wedge. I think I know and understand the "look" for the 426. sure its easier to get the 383 and or 440, but hes looking to keep the block matching, somewhat.....BUT he may have to go other routes in the end....IF the 426 isn't able to be had, (I'll be surprised as they aren't common as the 383 and 440. HELL even the 413 might be a better chance to get one then that 426......)

I am sorry to hear of that old block not being a good motor.....That really stinks!

Really don't want to stir the pot here but with everything that is done to the motor,Edelbrock heads,Holley carb, alum intake,MSD ignition and a host of other items the motor is as far from original appearance, looks is really not relevant, anything would work!!!

Some people want 383's, 400, 413,426,440's and even the big inch. I would like a 426 street wedge.

But,with what you did you don't have a 426 Street Wedge,you have a 470 something street wedge,can't have it both ways !

I don't blame you Dave. Wait and get what you want.

Your response is valid, however if you go back to the beginning of this subject,I really think Dave doesn't know what he wants,he has been all over the place from the beginning. As far as having a 426,the only thing he has/wants is a block, all else is aftermarket parts that makes it something else.It is what it is,I imagine what he has invested so far is quite substantial,it's his money to do with what he chooses and he is back at square one, doesn't make much sense. That is my opinion which I am entitled to,if you disagree, that is your right and you can express it any way you choose.

I'm done on this subject, had enough of the Drama,I'll just sit back and enjoy the show !!

Why are people so harsh on Dave it is his car. He can do whatever he want's.
426 block with his personal modifications is his business.
I have a 1964 Polara 500 with a 426sw and can count on one hand the number of people who recognized the V 42 stamp.

Hello All,My wife and I will be at carlisle wearing our FBBO hats we ordered today.I hope to see alot of members doing the same thing.

There's one on ebay for sale, but its got a 63 casting date. This one's
got a pinhole in one cyl & needs a sleeve. I'm planning a 500 inch RB stroker for my 64 Belvedere 4 spd 426S, but am looking for a date code 426 block in case I ever decide to go bone stock. Here's the ebay link & best wishes in whatever build you decide.
