No, just smoke the tires worse. I need to work on the suspension to go quicker. So your '71 Charger is a 10.60 127 car in the flat lands. Darn good.

I would think you'd have to be at a record setting track (-900) but that would be debatable..
( followed by a mad gnashing of calculator keys lol )

WOW. I haven't heard of that much before. I wonder if Denver gets good air once in a while. No not me, but that is my dim recollection from back in the day, the MN stocker guys would go to Bandimere and slow down nearly a second. My record setting track was Byron, IL because it had traction.
Well, a couple of years has went by, so here's an update.
Managed to do 12.24 sec with the xe284h hydraulic cam with open exhaust.
Changed to a hughes 250/254 dur 0.588/0.6 lift solid flat tappet cam (changed springs as well) and went 12.0 flat./110mph.
The car still feels down on power after 5000ish rpm. (thought the cam/lifter swap would cure the problem).
Have a msd billet distributor I will install during this winter, hopefully this will help since I'm running a old chrysler dizzy.
My thoughts lately has been on the torque converter, can a bad/miss matched torque converter give the symptoms/feeling of loss of power?
What's your thoughts on this?

Shifting at about 5500rpm (tried different rpms)Some thoughts...
* what rpm are you shifting at ?
* Still the Performer rpm Intake ? (they have a very poor Port Match if not corrected depending upon Frt/Rear positioning up to ~15% of 2 ports can be blocked)
* What T/Converter are you using ?
Just say'in... I'd like to get more info on yours to identify differences.... as we have a few guys running similar build 440's running high 11's with just the XE284 ?
Well maybe my memory is faulty, but 5000 Ft is sure different than 1100 Ft no matter what the air quality is. The tracks around here at 1000 to1100 will have a density of nearly 3000 most of the time. I don't know what Bandemer sees normally. The guys I knew that went there slowed down a ton.
Here’s a combo from 1990 or 91.......
440+.040, Sealed Power forged pistons down the hole .055”, LY rods.
906’s with 2.14/1.81.......one of my earlier attempts at porting.
A couple years later when I had a flow bench I tested all 8 cylinders, and the avg flow was 239cfm.
Torker II, 850DP, 2” headers, racer brown ssh-44 cam(old DC 292 cam), stock rockers with adjustable pushrods.
GER 10” converter, 4.10’s, 29.5 x 10.5 slicks, SS springs.
Battery up front, mechanical fuel pump, factory 5/16” line, crank driven w/p, full interior, heater, wipers, etc.
A little under 3600lbs race ready.
Went 11.40’s at 117
Here we go!
