thinking of building a new total street motor, will never see the track, and was thinking of using the 440 source strealth heads and 512 stroker kit . have any of you had an expeirience with there stuff? i see they say they are finish balanced kits, has anyone run them without rebalancing?

hi 68gtx there is no need for rebalancing the 440source stroker kit. its a wast of money to do so mabe for a race only setup but for street use thear balancing is plenty good enuff. i have one of there 500 stroker kit in my dart and it works good for me. i also bought one of there 512 kits then changed what im going to build now thinking of a 543 ci. so im selling the 512 kit so i can start on one bigger. henry b

440source

Hi 68GTX .

In my 69 RR is the 528cui from 440source.
Had the Stealth heads before but dropped #6 intake valve.

After repair we went with Edelbrock 88cc heads.
Have Indy mod man 6bbl on engine and the 1:11,6 c.r. pistons.

Engine combo is great in streetpower.

440source parts are gr8 for street engines.

Due the 512 flat top piston. If you are going to use the stealth heads get the cnc upgrade with the better valve job and hardware. With 512ci you will appreciate the needed flow.As stated before six pack setup, but I would use the old school over the shelf mechanical setup.Big diffrence between the two.Get the main girdle also, cheap insurance. This setup will be a tire smokin mother scratcher.

I,m in the same boat..Gonna build up a stroker motor...Checked out alot of websites...decided on buying a short block from musclemotors...For less than 4 grand I can have a 470 block balanced erady to go...I have the edelbrock heads..Just need some porting and polishing..It,ll save me time and money on the long run..

I am using there 4.15 crank stroker kit in a 440 block. At .030 it comes out to 493 cubes and it has worked great so far. The only issue I had was the piston pins come tight in the rods so I had to hone the rod bushings a little but it was no big deal. This is in my 63 Sport Fury that weighs 3700 with me in it. Had it out once and made 2 passes with a best of 11.04 @ 121 but I stopped because it was busting up in the top of the gears from being to lean. I feel sure it has at least 10.80's or better when I jet up some. But I have had no problems with their kit. Ron
