Artie,hope you meant "SHIFTERS"

Kudos to you and your students for a fabrication job well done!!
My only suggestion is to return that transmission dip stick & tube and obtain one with the locking dipstick.Do it now or forever hold your piece:munky2:

X2 on the locking dipstick.

X2 on the shifter also. I didn't think I was going to like it but the first time down the track I was hooked. I love it.

Gentlemen thank you for your comments, they are greatly appreciated. Can you tell me a little more about the locking trans fill tube. Is there pressure that is built up in the transmission that will blow it off? Break it down for me? I am a good listener and this is one of the reasons why we blog to learn from those who have gone down this road before us.

You and your students are welcome:notworthy:.BUT,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I also want to thank you for being the type of hands on TEACHER that you are.You are planting the seed in some of these younguns that will grow into the fabricators, machinist and racers of tomorrow:eusa_clap:.Too many of our public schools no longer have any "shop" classes anymore:puke::bootyshake::wavesmile::Groaner:.My positive shop class experience effected me for the rest of my life, helped me survive my HEMI-ITIS!!

Hemi-Itis thank you for your positive comments and your advice. The new dip stick has arrived and is installed. I will get some pics up soon.

Wow, your engine is a work of beauty, and your car is equally beautiful. Bad to the bone! Thanks for sharing.

I see you are from Long Island. I am originally from Babylon, but I currently live in Connecticut. What town are you from? Did you know my brother Jimbo? He had a 66 slant back baracuda (silver).

I live & work in the Great Neck area.If jimbo was in Nassau,I'm sure our pathes have crossed. The world get's smaller as we get older:bootyshake:

Keep up the good work "Teach":angel1:

Hemi-Itis I also wanted to ask you if your cage is connected to your frame or is it connected to 6" X 6" plates? Did you put it in yourself or did you work with someone that helped you? I guess the real question without beating around the bush is, can you give me a ball park figure of the cost? Was in steel or chrome moly? Thanks for your help!!!

Cage is c/m and was done about 9 years ago.The cage and tin work was done by Tony Giresi's shop UNCLE TONY'S TIRES.I think it around $1800 but I'm a toasty old guy and can't remember exactly how much.I'm sure with your fabricating skills and all the Santa helpers you have,it should not be a problem.

I think Tony was the guy who did the cage in my dart about 8 years ago or so. Do you know Willie Vickers he runs a catering business? Sounds to me like you have similar friends.

I hope you don't mind, but I am going to share your hot rod with my little elves. Have a great day!!!
