Any updates on the body shop?

Not really., The painter had to move his operation and got behind with other cars ahead of me apparently, so mine has not had much more done to it, but he says he's back on it now and going to have it ready to paint in a week or so. I told him no rush, just do it right.

That kind of attitude usually keeps you in good graces and lands you a nicely done job instead of a "let's get this thing outta here" job. Can't wait to see it!

Yep I'm anxious but if it takes him till spring that's fine because I won't have a motor ready before then anyway, at the earliest, and the trans needs a rebuild, and a whole lot of other things that I can be getting ready for it. Actually it's kinda nice it being out of my way and kinda like he's storing it for me.

Not "quite" free storage . . . but storage none the less . . . ( smile ) - can't wait to see it in paint !

I like the bracket mod. Dash looks great.

David

I think the braces would still support a metal bumper ok if one ever goes back on, just not as strong in a wreck. I'm trying to keep the car as light as I can, fiberglass front bumper, hood, trunk lid. I think I may take the front sway bar off also.

I painted the inside of the dash frame with silver, to take care of some surface rust in tight spots that the blaster couldn't get. The outside will be painted black..The reason I used silver on the inside is to help me see better under the dash while working on wiring, etc.. Got that good idea from someone on here, I think he used white, thanks whoever you are..

Broke down and bought some new tie-down straps from Summit, $128. The ones I had are kinda crapy. And added some heavy-duty D-rings to the trailer.

I like the carry bag for them.
I do too, but the straps are going in the box on the front of the trailer, and my helmet and jacket are going in the bag.

I'm trying to keep the progress going, but I'm running low on inexpensive stuff to do while it's in the paint shop. I guess it's time for me get started on a motor, I've put it off long enough.

Thought I'd refurb the tail lights. They were a little crusty and the chrome on them is a little pitted. Not sure how I'll deal with that. May see if re-chroming them would be a way to go.
