Great! Hard to beat a black Charger! I always liked silver stripes on black myself, coarse black on black is cool too.

Never been a big fan of black but Black looks really good on 68 - 70's Chargers.

Red interior to match the stripe?

I already have some black jegs racing type buckets that I got a while back when I first started putting in my roll bar/s, so I could make sure they would work out with the bar/s. But I have been considering red carpet, red headliner, red racing seat belts and a few other red things here and there. Thought it would help lighten up the interior and make the car a little less dreary than just all black in and out. What do you guys think of that idea?

Since my originals were shot I got these window handles, for $20. And if they will also fit and work on my modified 65 door handle mechanisms I'll get some more. I'll take the knobs off and mount them at about a 45deg angle so I'll be to just grab them and pull back to open the door. Also found some new door panels which have none of the holes cut out yet, so my mods will work out better with them.

Nothing dreary about all black. The handles look cool. Where did you get those?

I just thought that with the red stripe/s a little more red somewhere else would kinda add to it in some way. But it seems nobody likes my idea of a few red items on the interior., carpet, headliner, and racing seat belts. Everything else would be black, like seats, door panels, dash pads,etc..
I got the handles from a bud, not sure where he got them. He is in Europe for a couple weeks but soon as he gets back I'll find out.

I guess I missed the red interior parts idea???? I don't know about red carpet and red headliner (to big of an area) but the belts would really set it off. I think a completely red interior with black belts would be Sweet as hell though!!!!!!

I've already got new black seats, so no red seats anyway.

I just opened the package with the handles. I'm a little disappointed with them. They are very lightweight, so much so I thought they might be pot metal aluminum. I put a file to one and they seem to be billet but just very lightweight aluminum,. and they are chrome plated, cheap thin chrome. Not sure if they are going to work for me, I sure don't want a door handle that I can't fully trust in case I ever need a fast exit. Maybe that's why my bud sold them to me. Anyone know of a good place to get aftermarket/custom billet window and door handles for old mopars?

Sorry to hear you're not happy with them.
They just seem a little wimpy but not sure yet if I'll use them till I try them out on the car, which is at the bodyshop. I did find out that my bud got them on ebay., there's about a billion of them on there but none any heavier duty looking.

I've been keeping an eye on this thread kid, and I like the idea of some red items on the interior placed in the right areas. I think it would look awesome. I like the idea of red seat belts, what about red arm rests? Anyway, I can't wait to see this finished... Jim

Thanks.. Actually there will be no armrest due to my bad planning, because my door roll-bars are going to be in the way, I think. But I could possibly figure out a fix for that in the future. That's on my "maybe do later list".

Red line tires too?

No thanks.. They're ok on concours or similar. I'm going with big M/Ts on 15x10s on back and not to skinny fronts on 15x6s.

Anyone know where I got this pic or who the guy is that posted it originally? It may have come from the racers forum, but I can't find the original. I posted it here in my thread a while back but didn't note what he said the front tire sizes were. I do know they are on 15x6 rims.

Since I was feeling nervous with the car away at the bodyshop, I gave Hagerty Insurance a call. Glad I did., They will insure it for 15k for $300 a year. But I think I can get it even lower when I call them back and I tell them that the car will not be driven for quite a while. I just have to send them some pics and the vin and money. I probably couldn't get near 15k for it as it sits if I sold it but with all the work I have done 15k would make me feel a little better if it got stolen, burnt, etc...
