$500- 68 charger

Yes, I'll be going by to see his progress quite a bit, especially since his shop is only few miles from my house. I went by there today and saw some of his work, it was very impressive. Probably will take him my car the first of next week.

Did a few last touches to the car before it goes to the body shop, looking like Monday. I had blanked/welded the locks on the outside of the doors so I figured I might as well weld up the inside lock knob holes. Forgot to mention, the body man said he wanted to paint the interior side of the doors, jams and engine bay along with the rest of the exterior for that 4k price.
I'm "kinda" celebrating today, it's been 3 years since I got the car.,, seems to be going sooo slow. The paint will be a big step. Hope to be working on the motor while it's at the body shop.

Big news!!!! Wow can't wait to see your Charger in paint finally haha. You've been hard at it for awhile so it has to feel good knowing the end is in sight. Good luck with the paint.

You beat me to it Daytona Kid ! ! ! Congratulations on reaching a great milestone . . . anxious to see the car in paint . . . We'll be awaiting the pictures ! ! !

Yep I am excited, I got ants in my pants and I gotta dance!. This is going to be a long 2-3 months. It's been a fun 3 years but I haven't been working on the car much for quite awhile tho mainly due to not knowing what to do about the paint and filler/smoothing. Do it myself or find someone else to do it for me? I would have liked to have been able to say I did everything myself but the fact is- neither me or my shop are cut out for painting a whole car. I would have messed it up and never been able to get it smooth/straight and a nice paint job, especially black. This paint/body guy is really giving me a break I think, considering what the car needs to end up straight and slick.
Oh, also forgot to mention, he is going to paint my dash as well.

That is a major milestone. I would be excited too. I'm looking forward to seeing some photos of your car once it's painted. One step closer ..............

Loaded up and ready to go!- Monday pm.. It not being here is going to be unsettling, somewhere else for the next 2-3 months, away from my protection.:sad6: The body shop has very good security tho.
I was glad to finally see that it fits in my shop on the trailer. But it's not going to fit with the big tires it will end up with., maybe I can let the air out of them and squeeze it in. lol

Congrats on getting to this point. Now the sleepless nights will start.......waiting, waiting, waiting.

I wanted to go by the body shop but found something else to do instead of getting in their way. I took the dash apart to get it ready for them to paint.

Very Cool Daytona Kid . . . I'd be chomping at the bit waiting to get it back . . .

Wait . . . I'm still chomping at the bit trying to get my car done ! ! ! And loving every minute of it . . .

Keep up posted with pictures ! ! !

Please ! ! ! !

Visited the body shop today and the body work has begun. The guy doing the filler/smoothing is 70 years old and has been doing body work his whole life. They all love the car and I feel very good about how it will turn out. They only work on classics, oh and mail trucks.,lol.

Very exciting - you must be thrilled! Congratulations on a major milestone!

That's awesome! I know you said you wish you could say that you did it all yourself but if it there is one thing I wish I could have farmed out it would have been the bodywork and paint. It's such a grueling process that seams to never end so I say kick back and relax..... you've earned it.

Yep I am very excited, and feel even better after today's visit, seeing how they seemed to be enjoying working on it and talking about how great looking it was going to be.. I may relax a little but I have always gotta be working on something. Can't afford to do the motor yet so there is not much left for me to work on, on the car. So I guess I'll find some more inexpensive repairs that I need to do on my house, for the next couple of months.
Still trying to sell the r/c jet, if I could do that it would pay for the motor. Somebody buy this thing> http://www.flyinggiants.com/forums/showthread.php?t=108167&highlight=comp+arf+rookie

Of course they all like it. It is looking good. I enjoy seeing your updates. Keep up the good work.

I'm a little behind Kid what color did you decide on?
