im not sure what type of heads to run,, i been looking at the Edelbrock Victor heads.. out the box they seem good.. i want to push it to its limits on pump gas. thats why i like the vic heads.. 75cc brings be to about 10.5 compression.do i go custom cam? what type if rockers.. looking at the comp cams..i want a bad *** street motor that i can also put it down for mopars at the track.. its going on a 69 roadrunner.. im stuck on a combo..getting a head ache

I bought a set of the max wedge victors for my 572 build. Rockers I was going to get hughes (I think) that make there only and are a true ratio ratio can go which ever can always talk with comp. Custom is sometimes better due to it being made for the engine and comp says they are the same price as an off the shelf cam. Rockers also depends on how much money you want to spend I know jesel and crower are some of the real expensive brands. Good luck and keep us updated on how many Chevys and Ford's you kill.

A 543 with flat tops and a zero deck is more like 13:1 CR. What piston are you using to get 10.5? You'll need to CNC port those heads and run a big victor or indy intake with a dominator to feed that thing. At that point, you might want to consider just buying an indy 440-1 or 325 EZ package for it. Custom solid roller cam would be the only choice. Either way, upgrade to t&d rockers or jesels assuming your budget can handle it all.

I hear the indy heads need to be re-checked after you get them, true are not. What kind of HP will you hope to get from that set up. I am also hoping to build a nice stroker over winter and will follow your page, good luck show pics.

Anything you buy like that should be checked before it's bolted on no matter where it comes from.

EVERYTHING needs to be checked.

I have seen all brands of heads, and they all need some work, unless you have Indy or whoever build them to a specific standard, otherwise if you order a set of heads as per a standard piece they all have some little issues.
