I have noticed treads on 5.7 pulleys. I'm looking to see if anyone has a part # of maybe napa . of any pulley and mount for a 6.1 .im am not using power steering and no a/c.
I don't know if you can do it with the "car" timing cover but with some simple re-arranging of pulleys and a shorter belt I didn't have to have any custom parts. Just a thought...might try just moving around a couple of pulleys and see if you can make an arrangement.
ya I looked at them . but seems to be an because of the fact im using the grand Cherokee block . the factory delete is being used on the 5.7 . this one you sent may have the same problem .

The blocks are identical no matter what application. The only differences are timing covers and pulley/accessory arrangements. I believe the grand cherokee engine is setup like the cars.
The idler pulleys just bolt to a stud essentially. Why not make your own? Make a plate to match that base plate, weld a piece of tube with a couple gussets to the plate and weld a plate at the end tapped for the bolt. Then use a washer or two to space the pulley out and give it clearance and bolt it down. I did something similar on my truck motor except the stud I used was already there...just added 3-4 washers and bolted it down where I needed it.
