62 Belvedere 318 poly granny cruiser (one day i hope)

Been watching the local market place/CL for a cheap 360 to build a stroker... and WTF.. i can right now buy 2 running 440s for $450 each but if i want a locked up 360 it's 700+ shits insane.. will just keep waiting but.. just.. damn.. wanted to bitch :) If i don't find a block before i save up enough for a blower i'm calling dyers and will worry bout a block when my 318 airs it's guts out :)

Sooo Spring is coming and hibernation has to end... I don't know what it is but when November rolls around i just shut right off.. even put a heater in the garage this year and used it once.. BUT.. almost time to get moving again :) Goals soon.. bleed brakes (again, more changes) And limit my dist to 4* advance.. no biggy... then try to get miles in and sort the car out.

Also just messaged a guy in Ontario that builds small blocks to see about getting a 408 shortblock done since i am never gonna get to it myself. This 318 is making some interesting noises that don't sound deep enough for a rod.. and not lifter/rocker.. almost wondering if it could be fuel pump?.. And it's not TC bolts.. always check them first :)

Anyway... welcome to a new year!

A friend of mine [ here ] is getting alum heads & intakes made for the Poly.

That is awesome, i love polys but cost and parts made me switch to a LA.. Makes me happy that someone is gonna make parts though

Do not know the prices, but being made in China [ where else! ].

K.. I REALLY need to buy some front rims/tires... Does anyone know a place that will sell 2 rims/tires mounted/balanced shipped? also still can't decide what to get... steelies? Drag lites? no cragers.. never liked em...

I need to measure my current tires.. i have bout 1.25" space to the front valance (62's suck for that) so i should be able to go with a 2" taller tire.. not sure what the 14s are on it now.. They are ancient.. no dry rot but the rubber is super hard. And figure out backspace.... fun :) Spring is coming.. need to do **** i should have done 5 months ago :)

Maybe torque thrust?

What wheels do you have n the back?

30x10.5 Et Streets on Steels... I might go with new steels in the front.. kinda wanted to run dog dishes in the front but am told that they like to fly off the wheel vintique wheels.. so maybe just chrome lugs?

Like this... but no caps

I think steels will be it... like this.. i need to figure the biggest i can fit without having to cut the valence.. which i won't do :) i think i can get a 28 in there.. so maybe 28x6

P.S. that car in white is not great...

Looks like Kryslerkid already went through this on his... 225/70/15 barely fit.. 7" rim 4.5BS.. The axle/suspension being forward in the wheel wells is the most annoying thing bout a 62

Offset bushings and more caster?
Already done and as much caster as i could get.. it's just the way the cars are designed.. normally the rear tire is was forward also, i moved my axle back 1.75" so it's more centered

I liked the black rears with chrome nuts and the stock look on the front. Kind of a Weekend Warrior look.

Yup.. that's the setup i have now.. just want a slightly taller tire and couldn't find it in a 14.. when i look at 14s i kept coming up with trailer tires.. maybe i'll look again and save money on rims :) plus will make the sidewall look bigger

Yep, not many 14" tires available now days. I was running 14's on the front in the picture above. I have 15's on it now with no issues but these came off an early A body so I knew they would work. Interesting that your model is so far forward on the front and rear.

yeah.. all the 62's are like that.. it's a weird design choice.. if i had spare fenders i would love to attempt to move the opening forward :) and i would need 225/75/14s... which are near impossible to get.. so i will end up with 15s.. It kills me that guys want as much for crusty old steels that we used to throw away as new rims cost. And torque thrusts are $50 less each :)
