Fellow asked me about maybe trading this for one of my Chevys, It has a 440/purple cam/six pack, manual valve body 727, 370 sure grip, no rust pretty nice car. I know what mine is worth, wondering what you guys think this 63 may be worth. I'll keep in mind that cars usually sell for higher pric 00j0j_h6Lgynepi7Z_600x450.jpg01313_8WWvLALzmIB_600x450.jpg00M0M_cujg6Y9FgpR_600x450.jpg00b0b_cSuADRATBFb_600x450.jpg00s0s_lxMIEQKmoaa_600x450.jpges here in Calif

$17-$27K, that's a very big spread. He wants $27K, it's a very nice car, $17 I'd buy 10 of them.:icon_cool: I'm thinking low-mid $20's but I'm not as up on these as some of you may be.

If you are not up on them then why would you buy a bunch at 17k.

I'm thinking he isn't that far off with 27K if it is as nice as the pics but it is only worth what someone is willing to pay. Also it depends on what Chebbie. Less than 25K is probably a good deal because it would cost more to restore it. These early B bodies can be hard to find parts for if you are restoring them.

I recently bought this one(February).
The car in question is a hardtop so it takes a little hit in value compared to a sedan.
Paint on body on scale of 1-10?
How well does the car run?
In my opinion the 6 pack setup needs to be replaced with a max wedge setup to be close to proper for a 63 Plymouth.
How's the bright work and grille....are the anodized or stripped and polished, taillight bezels pitted?
Has the cowl been repaired if the car sat outside in inclimate weather it certainly rusted and had to repaired......same question on the floors and trunk?

These are the factors in my opinion that need to be answered before you will get a true value.
Based on your info I agree with what has been said but if the car has a killer paint job and all the bright work is perfect to very nice and the cowl is solid I would go above the $27K.

A friend of mine bought a no rust one time repaint 63 post Plymouth, 318. Trim, bumpers and interior are very nice. Door jambs, under hood and trunk all original and untouched. Black paint is driver quality. He paid 13K last year. I thought he got an excellent deal.

I'm up enough to know it's worth more then $17K, thought that was kind of obvious.

The car is as nice as you see in the pics, this is a Calif car that has been taken care of= no rust, paint is 9/10, chrome and trim is 9/10.
Interesting comment on the 6 pak, my biggest concern is the trans with a manual valve body, I drive street cars. If it was a four speed I'd probably jump on it.

Doug was the car you refer to at Autorama in Detroit last year?
The car I'm thinking of was bought out of Chicago and was at Autorama....cool car I think the owners name was Mike?

i'm going to stick my neck out here because i own an really like the early b's. i think any really solid body by itself can fetch upwards of 10k. add a drivetrain, interior, suspension, wheels and tires and you'll have well over 25k in it. there are folks who really want these cars. they seem to have a niche following. my '65 coronet is a very solid west coast, good reliable drive anywhere car with a little scoot under the hood. when i get ready to let it go i'll ask 25k for it, knowing i may have more than that in it, and knowing that there's no way it can be built for that kind of money.

Let me change up the question a bit. OK, I think the car's price is in the ball park. Do you think there is any upside in pricing left in this car? In other words things that can be done to increase it's value?(within reason) The paint and trim and interior are already there, what else if anything can be changed to increase it's value or is it already maxed out?

Interior needs some work in my opinion and the steering wheel sticks out like a sore thumb.
Mopar Mikey have you ever driven a pushbutton car.....lots of charm with us Mopar guys and personally I was only looking for a pushbutton when I bought my 63.
To see any upside price wise I think the car needs a maxie crossram and some maxie exhaust manifolds which are going to cost you around 4K. Depending on the 6 pack setup you could recoup close to 2K I would think.
I have a 69 1/2 liftoff hood car also......multi carbed Mopars are runners!

That's a sweet car! The only change I would make would be to replace the six pack with a cross ram intake. Would look more at home on that car. Its a beautiful car and I think its worth the money.

i like 6bbl's but this works fairly good if you do a lot of driving.
