Figured I would post this the project forum. Traded for this a couple months ago. Running and driving 500 that is solid. Seats need to be redone. Two freeze plugs leaking. I've done started pulling the engine out to check it out and clean it up. Not sure what I'm going to do with it. Just leave it as it is for the body and paint for right now. Picked up some 15v6.5 wheels for it.

Great project!! Welcome aboard the forum and looking forward to your progress! :)

Slick. Yours is how mine started out. Poly motor with a/c. Hope you have fun with it. This is my car. I got beyond lucky with it. It was already like this when I got it. Put on new tires, TTI exhaust, tune up etc. Also did the seat cushions, they were rotted out.018.jpg

You guys both have some cool rides!!! I love the way your wheels look stock color matching your paint junky! Looks like all business no time for BS :)

I love my 65 your looks like it's in good shape is the cowl rusted out ? This seems to be common are you going to leave it originall ?

I want to swap the cam out when I pull the engine. Bobo, What size rear wheel and tire are you running? The cowl on mine is solid. I'd like to swap in the 68 383 I have but hate to mess with an original car.

Nice coronets all. Enjoy the junkyard junky. Your off to a great start. Bobo, I really like to tubbed look and the big meats. What is the color of your car?

Nice looking project... What's the rust on the inner fenderwell from (rusted the horn too!)? Major radiator leak?

All the brown is from the radiator over flow tube. All the antifreeze was brown. I'll have to clean the whole engine bay.

Thanks for the reply junk yard junky .. glad you have no cowl rust my 65 is set up pro street style 21x7.50 4 inch wide stock style rim fronts and 33x21.50 rear sticky Mickys on 15 inch wide rear rim 3 link & pan hard bar coil overs the paint I believe is a 68 color frost green but I have not confirmed this is a fact has a stock looking 451 /a833-8-3/4 Shure grip 4:10 in puts a smile on my face every time I get it out and row thru the gears .. Your freeze plugs have seen better days for Shure keep us posted thanks

Engine is back in along with the transmission. Trans leaks fluid like crazy so as soon as I get the front suspension back in its going to the trans shop. One of the upper control arms was crack so I ordered tubular upper control arms. Ordered new strut rod bushings only to find out they do not fit. I was told they must be aftermarket rods that replaced the originals at one time, who knows. So I ordered new strut rods.
