i am doing a 318 to hemi swap into my 69 440 coronet. i have been scrongeing stuff for this for some years, ie; motor about 5 yrs. ago, front disc stuff, rear springs, etc.,etc.. the motor has a single 4 intake and i wanted a 2x4 one. about 4 yrs. ago i came across a 2x4 inline one and bought it on ebay. after the sale people still came at me to buy it and upping the price, so i figured i had something interesting. i was busy on another project and just put it away.
so here is the dilemma, turns out this is an original 2x4 off of 66 hemi's according to govier. p4532784. if i was doing a 66 reproduction this would be awesome, but i am not. do i use it OR trade or sell it to someone who would put it to a better use. ie; 66 hemi car. it seems not right putting it on mine when i am not shooting for perfect resto.
what do you guys think? i am just thinking out loud. rick

I think its great to use older parts like that-very nostalgic

It doesnt take away from the build at all and if you ever change things up to a different setup you can allways sell the thing- guarenteed

I was going to do the same thing with a six pack intake on my 440 but the crossovers on the underside of the intake wouldnt clear the valley pan cooling fins(indy) ...sad but it sold fast

The 66 intake with the DPCD logo is a one year only item, and like you pointed out it has no relevance to you, but if you sell it you will be back to square one looking for another.

Now give me a moment to slip into my salesman's suit because have I got a deal for you! I have a later original pentastar logo one that I am willing to trade you because my real 66 HEMI car can use the correct intake. If you're interested in a trade let me know. Depending on condition I can throw a little money at the deal in your favor. PM me.

The jury needs to see and anlyize the manifolds in question:worthless_thread:

I like Meep Meep's offer. You can use ANY dual quad hemi intake, he NEEDS yours. Have him ship his to you, pay to have yours shipped to him, and throw in a bit of cash or parts to sweeten the deal. Win-win situation.

Hahaha!!!

Gentlemen of the jury (and ladies if there are any near by) I present exhibit A. This intake is screwed to my wall as decoration and I don't have a pic of the bottom yet, however I can easily take it down and remove the bottom cover plate for further inspection. It looks to be in good used condition.

I hereby present exhibit B. This intake was on a running car not more than a month ago and also appears to be in good used condition. Linkage parts are not included.

Bottom cover plates can be removed from both intakes for further pictures and inspection.

Or, as pointed out by Mr. blown bad *** HEMI, I have no problem buying the 66 intake outright so you can get a cross ram!!

The wall art appears to be as described and in exellent condition, however,,if it were "I" that were making the choice, the crossram would look totally awsome getting more attention than inlines. JMO:idea1:
