This is an ongoing project so last week I repainted the engine compartment and underside of the hood paint match is fair but it's the engine compartment. So far the week I cleaned and primed the K-member cleaned other parts fan P/S pump etc for priming and painting. From here on it's placing the engine compartment parts back on. The engine still needs assembly that going to be an issue as the one and only machine shop here was trusted to put cam bearings in. However, once I got the block home I had to pry the camshaft out. Bought an el-cheapo cam bearing tool in hopes I can do a better job.
 
You will probably have to scrape even a new set of cam bearings. Buy a real 3-sided bearing tool and scrape the "shiny" areas after rotating the cam. You may not even get the cam in at first, just keep working the tight areas until it rotates easily. I pulled the cutter from the tool and put it in a section of old broomstick to get further into the block. I read somewhere that when new the factory line bored the cam bearings for clearance?
