I recently did some work to my dash, and in putting it back together I crossed the wires on the amp gauge accidentally. As soon as I noticed it was showing discharge I changed the wires to where they were supposed to be. Trouble is, not the car is not firing. It turns over but no spark. I can only find one fuseable link and replaced it. Any suggestions?

Okay...lesson learned?
When ever 'playing' around the backside of the instrument panel, always dis-connect the battery!
Not firing...start checking the ignition circuit...starting at the coil, and work your way backwards towards the ignition switch. Could simply be a fuse, or something else. Just need to trace things out, until you find where the ignition circuit is stopped. Best to just use a test light on it.
Good luck on it!

Get a volt meter and see what the last place is that has voltage with the key on.

BTW I LIKE that car. More pics somewhere?

If all you did was hook up the amp gauge backwards all should be good. But maybe something more is going on. Why replace the fusible link? Did something get smoked? You want good advice ya gotta tell all what happened. Hell I've smoked a few things,I think most here have. $hit happens! And if I'am barking up the wrong tree just ignore my rant.

It turned out to be a condenser that bolted to the intake and the wire ran to the + side of the coil. I replaced it and it fired right up.

That doesn't happen very often.
Once I had a condenser for the points die, I had no spare, and I wired the coil condenser over to points and went on my way.

One habit I got into, was I always carried a spare condenser in the glovebox. A condenser is about the only thing in a points system...once it goes bad...can't fix it.
Also carried a small piece of sandpaper, or a metal nail file (points file)...guess what for!
