67 R/T... Back to Life

Next up are some emblems. Front D O D G E is from CI/OER & rear is from Tony's Parts. I got tired of waiting for CI back order so I bought letters from Tony. I will say that the OER letters are much better, crisper. I should have waited. Hood scoop is on too.

Top to quarter chrome is original and so are the R/T emblems. All redone at LiBrandi's and painted here.

RF Pentastar was gold originally and that came from Detroit Muscle.

Really beautiful, nice work!

Today is the one year anniversary since I picked up the car. Time flies.

This weekend was Carlisle obviously, I was up on Friday and Saturday and got some parts I needed.

Got a lot done on the car since I posted last too.

- quarter glass is in and regulators repaired and lubed
- roof drip rail trim polished and installed
- gas tank, sending unit, and fuel inlet contraption
- dash is in
- steering column in, still have to figure out how to make the steering wheel blue.
- cool-it thermotech insulation on floor
- rear speakers in
- this car had a rear mount antenna and I decided to add a power mast. Retro radio small unit.

Date code is 106M on the glass. Oct 66, M is 1/4" tempered.

Next weekend is the headliner install. Can't wait:eek:

rear-mount antenna? awesome.

Yep, second car I found from this dealership that way. I couldn't find anything on the IBM card for radio antenna delete but the car had the radio with rear fader. No hole opinion the front fender either. Don't see to many that way.

Headliner time! This is a job that kinda stinks if you don't do this everyday but it's very rewarding when it's done.

In preparation I installed all the mirror and visor hardware, dome light and coat hook. Make it easier to find when you liner is installed and you have to figure out where the holes are.

Headliner and sail panel boards are from Legendary. Jute was glued in place.

I laid out the liner and installed the bows, finding center is important. The car has notches in the pinch weld also.

Once the headliner is hanging in the bows, pull it front to back. I start by pulling the front and rear to the corners. From there start working the sides. I break it into quadrants and start working it to the corners and save the dreaded sail panels for last.

Headliner installed! Trim was installed, long roof pieces were rechromed and rear window trim was able to be polished.

Rear window is original and rear gasket is original too. Everything cleaned up okay.

The package tray board and trunk divider was also from Legendary. Both pieces need tweaking and extra holes/slots cut. Visor are from Legendary and they needed some help, no way they'll stay up on their own. I had to crush the tubes a little to put more tension on the rods. Hope that works.

Rear door cards are from Legendary too. Carpet is also from Legendary.

Carpet, mirror, visors, dome light, troop trim, rear window and trim are all in. Seat belts were polished and cleaned. Last thing I was able to do today was install the rear seat! Whew.

Thx guys. I ordered a windshield from Pilkington, should arrive this week. Get the windshield in and load the doors and I think the rest of the interior will fall into place.

I still have lots of trim to fix and polish.

Your car looks awesome! have a question on the rear windshield outer trim clips and what they look like and placement. P.S. got my headliner in, thanks again for your help.

Thank you, good to hear you got the headliner figured out.

I just did the front and back glass. I'll see if I can get some pictures posted this week.

Chris,

Here are some pictures around the rear glass for clip placement.

Front clips are different on sides and top. Lower molding on front takes a longer clip. All of them screw in. I would assume Plymouth is the same but not positive.

Rear window goes in the gasket and them you 'rope' the window in. The rope pulls the gasket over the pinch weld.

Front glass you put the gasket on the car and unzip the gasket. Start the window in the gasket at the bottom and 'spoon' the glass int the gasket. Use lots of glass cleaner to lube it. Once its in the gasket then zip the gasket up.

Use some sort of sealant as you see fit, both between the gasket and pinch weld and glass to gasket. If this is a weekend car with no regular exposure to rain and automatic car washes I wouldn't worry too much about it.
