Or commit a felony.Having a state issued vin will not change anything with the car. It still has the fender tag, so most of the heritage of the car is intact. Your car will not have an original vin unless you are able to find your original dash.
You rock 747. It's a pain in the butt, but then you are 100% Legal. I was at US-41 Dragway (just South of Chicago) a few years ago during a "test & tune" session. Several state troopers showed up in the staging lanes & started checking for VIN numbers and paperwork on a bunch of cars.Or commit a felony.
I went through the same deal, car was to cheap to pass up but was missing the dash, took it to the State Trooper inspection station where they confirmed it's legitimacy then got a state issues vin tag. I was told to just throw another tag on it by others but I'm not one to go around worrying about getting my butt in a pickle, there's right and there's wrong.
