Well here we go,some of you may remember this one in the classifieds a month ago.Was kinda looking for a 70 Bee but just wasnt finding anything close or in my price range so this came up and i took a liking to it.I made a deal with Matt and the car is here now after almost of month of waiting in agony.lol
Still working on a game plan and hopefully make up a list of what it needs soon so i can get some sheet metal ordered.Need to get the interior pulled to check out the floors. The car is actually fairly solid for a midwest car.Havent had a chance for my own pics yet but here are a few from Matts listing.

By the way i am most likely not going to be useing the wheels so if anyone has interest PM me.

cool glad to see it got a good home do you still have the 64?

Glad to see this thread started but I was hoping for some different pics!!! This one will be fun to watch. Congrats! Are you going to use the 383 that's in it or find a 440?

Most likely use the 383 for the time being, get some exhaust on it and do some tuning and see how well it will run before pulling it.Been working dark to dark so no time just yet for pics.

Congrat's Jay and Matt as well. This will be a great build to watch. Let me know if you ever need some help or someone to drink your beer while you work...LOL J/K. Seroiusly, I'm not that far down the road if you ever need a hand. Great project car.....Great indeed.

Well, here it is in its new home. Also did a little investigating today, pulled the seats, console and rug out to check the floors.Rusty, you betcha.Mainly just in the front foot well area ahead of the front seats.

Yeah Man! That's what I'm talking about! That will be one beautiful GTX when finished.

Made some progress this weekend and also emptied the wallet saturday sheet metal shopping.1 new rear rail, trunk pans, extensions, outer wheel houses and 1/4s,front floor pans and 1 rocker.Should keep me busy.
The mice thought that rail made a good home, check out the pic of whats left of that rail.I did get the new one in and all welded up.Next made up some patches for the inner wells, ran out of wire so they need to be finished. Then it will be getting the pans prepped to go in.

Holy cow Jay! Not wasting any time are you? Have you had it running since you've had it? What is your gameplan?

Looking good!
I can see your about to put in some new trunk pans and I had the same plan as you but I did change my mind and drilled out the spotwelds right below of the parcel shelf and replaced the complete pan, it was not so much more work and I think the result will be much better instead have to weld a seam across the floor and then grind it etc.. And you can clean up the upper bracket for the dampers too.

See picture.

Keep posting pictures!

Carb is bad and getting rebuilt and should have it back by the weekend, ran a little with a shot of gas but wouldnt keep running. The place i get my sheet metal at had everything in stock and is only about 75 miles so i picked it all up saturday and put the rail in that afternoon.
Plan is to get the trunk area finished then on to the front floors and repair the weak torsion mount end.Get the floors in and get the bottom side cleaned up and coated. Then fuel tank, lines, new exhaust and see how well it runs.Hopeing to get that portion done by may or june so i can maybe drive it some while i work on it.

Yep original color with the stripes, interior may be black instead of blue. And it will get a vinyl top again

If you don't mind me asking, where are buying your sheetmetal?
