have tracktion bars on my 68 gtx my mechanic told me they were useless says to put the pinion snubber on and take off the traction bars rear end is dana 60 4.10 gear. car has about 450 hp ahy imput will help thanks.
 
Listen to the mechanic,they are not needed unless you want to go for a day 2 look.
 
A 68 GTX is a great car, I would do what the mechanic said..

Your mechanic is probably talking about one of these {photo below} from Mopar Performance... I would also suggest you check your pinion angle & if necessary, then add some shim's to get the correct angles {like Comp. Engineering units below}... The traction bars will work, if installed properly, to help eliminate wheel hope & leaf spring wrap up issues under hard excelleration, Just old school technology...
