And just as Richard said my parts arrived yesterday on time. Stainless strip rubbers, short fuzzys, plugs for access holes, vent pivot seals, and ventframe bumpers.

Looks like some garage time is order! May have to sneak out of work early today. Thanks again 69Bfan.

So I got the stainless strips buffed up.

You can see how many times the car had been painted.

Went to install bumpers at top of vent frames. First one no problem, second one had screw twisted off about .080 in *@&#! So drilled and tapped it.

So figured I finish the rest of the frame to see what other surprised there might be. Found some extra copper and chrome on one upper pivot leg. lt took about a hour to clean that up. Got glass set in

lower frame. That went ok got the first glass in ok. Second one was a bit of a challenge. First the upper pivot piece had the threads stripped about the first bit. So I'LL have to get a longer screw. Also I had to put a couple extra layers under it to get the top off the glass to seal

Used some q tip sticks to hold glass in place till I got everything tightened. Also gotta get roll pins & washers for lock arm, and lower pivot stud.

So I replaced the waffle washer with a chrome washer about the same size. This will help add a little bit more pressure on the seal at the top. I also used a paint stick to help hold the glass in place while I get the screw tightened.

I got a SS replacement screw a little longer to solve the stripped thread problem. The local Hardware Hank has been a lifesaver on hardware. They have a great selection of chrome, SS, black chrome, and misc kinds of fasteners. I found a SS screw very close to the OEM one. It would take a very keen eye to pick it out.

BTW I ordered the roofrail seals from Richard (69Bfan). He was cheaper than Year One with their 30% promo! Score another one for our forum member vendors.

So got the door glass out. I noticed right away the notch for the wingvent bumper was not the same as OEM.

Hoping this isn't going to be a problem.

Getting the mylar strips ready to install. Laid the old ones on the glass to see if the holes matched. They were close but not dead on. I'll try to match the new holes to the glass. Also I'm assuming the notch is for the top, the screw in the vent frame.

Unless I had the element of surprise in my favor, I'd likely end up in the crawlspace under a bag of lime!
