So some friendly advice, I ordered new emblems for the trunk lid. They are very brittle! I would suggest putting them in a soft vice to run down the cutter nuts the first time. I tried holding it from the outside of the trunk while tightening and you can see the result. I think the plating on the stud or maybe the wrong diameter of the stud are to blame. Good news is Year One sent me a replacement at no charge.

wow, I hope no damage was done

I had the same problem with a new Charger nameplate for the headlight bucket, I ended up having to thread it and put a regular nut on it. That really sucks!

Good thing was they replaced it and I didn't scratch any paint. But I did cuss a blue streak when it happened.....just knowing I scratched something.

I've been trying to think of something better for attaching these things., How about a few drops of gorilla glue somewhere?, maybe on the studs inside and nuts barely tight but glued..

The old emblems were made of softer material & not plated on the back. I think we need to just remember to take great care when installing them. They certainly aren't cheap!

I had to use old cutter nuts when possible, and I took new ones and reamed them a little since it felt like studs would snap easily; on old and new emblems

Well a little giddy today as I've finished up the details on the Six Barrel, and will be boxing it up to send to LaRoy Engines. Can't wait to hear her roar on the dyno!!!

Had a little time on the GTX today. Trimmed the trunk mat for the mini tubs, and got the replacement emblem back on the trunk lid.

looks like that trunk mat fits pretty darn nice ! How is it around the wheel humps and the cut outs on the tail panel bracing? Also, is that tan or gray? (sorry, I can't tell from the pics)

Gray, tail panel cut outs were real close only about 1/4 inch trimming on braces. Year one piece. Fit wheel humps pretty good except for the mini tubs.

I had keep my trunk mat lifted, since the humidity in the MN summer made it collect water in puddles underneath it..Not good.

I run a dehumidifier year round in my garage, helps a lot.

I also run a dehumidifier in my garage although, my garage is for the most part climate controlled so the dehumidifier really isn't needed I guess.

Well I think I have everything now to buff out the engine compartment. I noticed it had some clear overspray on it and didn't like it so I will be spending the weekend doing that. Then I can start installing suspension & other parts.

Got my wiper motor back finally!IMG_20151219_124113 (2).jpg

One more weekend of deer hunting then back to the garage! Single digit temps this weekend should be good hunting!

Well hunting season is over along with my football season. Vikings lost a heartbreaker to the Sea Chickens. Guess it's time to get the guns cleaned and put away and get back to the car!
