I was watching the new episode of Pawn Stars last night. The Old Man made Rick take his 51 Cheby to an auction in FL, and while they were there Cory saw a 69 Road Runner that he just started freaking over. They ended up buying it and driving it back to Vegas. Nice seeing a Mopar on that show!

Here's a pic of the car http://www.carcrack.com/photos/working-69-roadrunner-owned-cory-pawn-stars

Yeah, and the Old Man couldn't start the car. Probably flooded it.

By the look on Cory's face, I was guessing there was an ignition cut-off switch in there and he had thrown it in case The Old Man tried to take the car, which he has done before when a cool car he likes comes in.

Damn, that RR is sweet. Haven't watched the show in awhile, but I get a kick out of it. Great resource to learn how to negotiate buying/selling. Or how not to.

Nice RR

was there a motor swap or was Cory mistaken when he 471 Hemi? I thought the guy at the auction said it was restored to original.

how much did they pay for it ??, does it has a Hemi too ??

Cory's got great taste, in cars, but I'm a little biased... he he ha ha

According to Auction America's website, they sold McQueen's Chevy convertible for $84,000 and bought the 69RR for $52,800. The website says that the RR has a pro built 471 Hemi stroker, so it's obviously not original. The RR's a pretty nice looking car but I think that they might have paid a little too much for it, but then I think that somebody paid too much for McQueens old Chev. I'm old so I think everything costs too much.

Their winning bid was 45 large, but at the end of the show they said 52.5 large. We all know the both the buyer & seller pay commissions when a car is sold at auction, but if those clowns paid that much in fees, I'm definitely in the wrong business.

Thanks guys & Dick

During the show they were telling the stats and said the 69 Hemi Road Runner had a top speed of 116mph. More totally unreal reality TV. Even with a 4:10 rear I find that number awfully slow. My little 340 Challenger would do 135.

Welcome to FBBO o1mark, maybe you could go to the Welcome Wagon forum section & start a thread & introduce yourself, maybe give us some background & some photos of your projects/rides too... it's a great forum, some great friendly & knowledgeable people here too...

I did not see the pawn 69 roadrunner show. I tried finding it and saw a familiar name on this website "mine". I also have a 68 roadrunner. In 1970 after getting back from se asia, I ordered a new 70 roadrunner. I was obsessed with the bahama yellow color but it was not available in 1970 so I ordered it black and would repaint when it got here. The salesman called when it arrived and to my amazement it was bahama yellow. As I remembered it, it had a 999 paint code and to my knowledge it was the only one ever made that color. Having no money I could only afford to have power steering and a radio. I think the 4sp was standard. I've gone through 85 cars mostly B-bodies.
