69 Roadrunner Knuckle buster.

Just thinking back when I had my 69 Roadrunner and I would shift into 3rd gear and smash my knuckles on the dash...made me chuckle and I was wondering if others had that problem?

Lol not on a car ! Used to drive a truck that had a 15 speed in it you had to throw it into the dash to hit the high hole! God I hated that truck lol!:icon_thumbdown:

:violent1:I had a 1967 mustang with a 3 Speed in the floor I was 17 and thought I just had to have Indy after market Shifter. After I put it in everytime I put it in second gear I changed the radio station with my knuckles. Those push buttons could do some damage if you were in a hurry!LOL

When I got my 68 super bee it had a 70 pistol grip shifter in it and it was sloppy as hell. I cant remember if I ever hit the dash, but going for third was like reaching for the glove box. Lol. It has since been changed to a Hurst super comp shifter. I love that white ball shifter.

I had a 65 Coronet 500 in high school. 383 / 4 speed. That two foot tall Hurst was a dashboard knuckle buster.....

Yep. Been there and done that. Third gear meant the Camaros got to see my taillights, so the busted knuckles didn't bother me.
