So heres the story.
This particular 1969 383 4 speed Bee has been in my group of friends since 1990. One of my good buddies bought this beast out of high school and a few of us guys helped work on it in those days. you know, throw some crappy oversized cam and non matched intake on it and hope that it runs good. which it never did unless you were at 3000 rpm's. good times were still had though. needles to say time goes on and the car sat for many many years without being touched. he got married and always had intentions of fixing up that car, but life would not have it that way. he was diagnosed with cancer at 34 and battled that for the rest of his time never being able to complete that dream(2006). so the car sat now for the past 11 years decaying and waiting .
But that would not be the end of this Bee. His late wife and I have since become best friends and soul mates and have taken on the task of recreating this car into something that out lost friend would be proud of and intend to dedicate the car in his memory which will be placed in the super bee decal in the stripe.
so now for some details of the restoration. color of car is red at the beginning of this project but will be changed to B5 Blue. which will be accomplished by a complete disassemble and soda blast of complete car. new trunck pan, floor pan, rocker panels, rear quarter panels , among many other new parts. and frame connectors also. also the unoriginal buckets seats are being taken out and replaced with the stock bench in white vinyl. changing the whole interior from black to white since this is not a numbers matching car i dont see a problem with that. the motor is a 383 stroker which is going to be built by Kilpatricks in waukesha,wi. 500hp.
i am going to keep it very stock looking however. i will post some pics of the before and also of progress . thanks for listening
