You know, that's what I heard too. Even called TTi to inquire about running 3" through the mufflers and then going to 2.5" tailpipes. Both the owner as well as the tech guy told me that was a bad idea and not recommended. Although they would make it if I demanded, for an additional $150. Assured me I would have no issues with 3" all the way. I hope not.

I'm running 3" in the Coronet, 8 3/4" though. Less than 1/2" room on each side of the gas tank. But it all fits.

Rump stripe color...... What interior are you going with? I like things to blend in rather than contrast. I guess I'm a fan of the sneaky subtle look rather than the in-your-face look. IMO with a black interior, I vote for Matte black or even Carbon Fiber. However, like your thread says (my way) That is the way it should be.

The car has a black interior. Originally I for sure wanted a white stripe, but now am kind of leaning towards matte black. I ask everybody's opinion that stops by. Around 30 people so far and it is dead even between the 2 colors.

Been getting things ready to attempt the headliner install. Found out the one of the previous owners had stripped out the holes holding the rear view mirror. With the car already painted, and unable to get to the backside of this area, I didn't want to take a chance with the welder and grinder to fix the holes. A big thanks to Doug @dvw for the idea to use small cotter pins. I would never thought of this simple solution. After getting them in the holes, I put a dab of epoxy on the legs just to hold them in place when I remove the screws after the headliner is in place.

Got the k-frame taken care of. Even though I think Firm Feel charges to much for their stiffening kits, I bought another one from them. I told them to keep their goofy skid plate that comes in the kit because it is a terrible reproduction. They must have heard that before, because they gave me a few bucks off without hesitation.
My friend Al who is a Hemi nut and custom fabricates Hemi k-frames and Hemi engine brackets also make skid plates. He does an awesome job on them. He sells his stuff all over the States. Old school guy who doesn't have the internet or a smart phone. Everything is word of mouth. He was the only place you could buy these until recently, now they are reproduced and sold from several vendors.

When converting from a drum brake car to manual disc/drum and using a smaller bore master cylinder, a problem always comes up for what to do with a dust boot. They are not produced and I have gotten lucky on past projects to find good originals. None to be found for this car however. So I found a tough plastic clear jug and made my own. Took 2 tries to get it perfect, but I am happy with the finished product.
