Looks fantastic. Be careful closing the hood the first time.
Lol, air cleaner studs are a real pain!!Looks fantastic. Be careful closing the hood the first time.
Guaranteed there will be more than a few hiccups before it is on the road. Seems like nothing I touch goes smoothly on these old cars. Doesn't even bother me anymore like it used to years ago. I just shrug it off, fix the problem, and move on now.You DO know that something else is going to go wrong before it's all said& done(?)!!! Hoping I'm wrong.
Thanks Joel, that's what I'm looking for. The Coronet has both but they're original and cracked.Hey Rich. The K-frame splash shields came with all these cars. I just cleaned mine up and have some large aluminum pop rivets that are like the originals. I have never seen it, but have heard that some were bolted on instead of riveted. Don't know if that was an assembly line difference? You can buy the shields new if yours are missing.

Sooo, what happened with any honey-do's; as an aside? It crosses all boundaries! So when I mention that it seems like anything that can go wrong does with me, I'm really not exaggerating. Today was going to be spent getting the front end, brakes, steering buttoned up and the car back to a roller and off the hoist. After the strut rod deal I figured the rest of this portion should be smooth sailing, but that was not meant to be.
Going with the heavier duty 11/16" tie rod ends and QA1 sleeves. Had this stuff bought 2 years ago. Opened up the boxes to screw it together and found another surprise. Boxes are correct, but inside were the correct 2 right and 2 left nuts. However I have 3 left hand thread tie rod ends and 1 right. How can this even happen? Of course nobody around here stocks these things, so I had to order another right thread on the internet. One side is together at least.

I also went with the bigger tie rod ends. I just noticed the grease zert hits the passenger torsion bar and changed it to a shorter version. Either my bar is bent or the larger size TR causes the issue with normal grease zerts. Autozone sells a box with an assortment of zerts. So when I mention that it seems like anything that can go wrong does with me, I'm really not exaggerating. Did you have to readjust your doors after your install the glass and hardware, did the weight make them drop ?
I haven't had to adjust them even though I was expecting to. I will wait to check the gaps after everything is on the car and it is sitting on all 4 wheels.Did you have to readjust your doors after your install the glass and hardware, did the weight make them drop ?
Ok, I’ll keep following to see how it works out. ThanksI haven't had to adjust them even though I was expecting to. I will wait to check the gaps after everything is on the car and it is sitting on all 4 wheels.
Sorry to hear that. And just as everything was going so well, too. Also bit the bullet and ordered a 440 air grabber base from PG Classic so I didnt have to cut my original 383 one. Wouldn't you know that after waiting over a week for it to be shipped from Canada, they packed a 383 style in the box marked 440 .
Yeah, for a day or 2 lol.Sorry to hear that. And just as everything was going so well, too.
