For some it may be ok to have a trailer queen to look at, but that does nothing for me. I so enjoy driving these old cars - takes me back in time to the early 80's when I got my license. Good memories!

What a great feeling! 5 hours this morning with sealer, paint, and clear. I don't know how you body guys do this kind of work every day. I have had enough and think I will stick with my HVAC stuff. Surely not perfect, but at least I can say I did it myself. This is the last of the work I am doing on the body. Buddy of mine has it scheduled to go to his shop in July for bodywork and paint.

Good enough for who it is for. One nice run in the clear and 1/4 of a fingerprint where I decided to check to see if it was dry a bit to early. Adds a little character imo.

My one time painting the wheel wells on my Coronet in primer ended up with more primer on the garage floor than on the car LOL. Thank God the quarters are covering that mess.

Finally got some free time to play in the shop and decided to tear into the heater box. I ended up grinding off the rivets for the dampers because the brackets were to rusty for me to live with. Wasn't about to buy the correct tool to install the factory style rivets, so I used some aluminum blind expandables that worked out really good. They don't look correct, but to me that is far better than rusty brackets. Sand blasted all the metal and painted with the stainless paint that DMT recommended. I didn't really care for that though and think if I do another I will use detail gray from Eastwood instead. Wanted to keep the white strand looking things in the fiberglass body, so just cleaned that up good with Simple Green. Had to make a few repairs, but nothing that will show when installed. I did splurge for a rubber stamp to get the numbers back on the front plate. Even stamped it crooked like it was originally.

let alone the quality & detailed work, in that time frame
looks like it's a really nice car

outside of the (68) surf turquoise metallic on Plymouths
the Bronzes & the Burnt Oranges are my personal MoPar favorites

Got the k-frame taken care of. Even though I think Firm Feel charges to much for their stiffening kits, I bought another one from them. I told them to keep their goofy skid plate that comes in the kit because it is a terrible reproduction. They must have heard that before, because they gave me a few bucks off without hesitation.
My friend Al who is a Hemi nut and custom fabricates Hemi k-frames and Hemi engine brackets also make skid plates. He does an awesome job on them. He sells his stuff all over the States. Old school guy who doesn't have the internet or a smart phone. Everything is word of mouth. He was the only place you could buy these until recently, now they are reproduced and sold from several vendors.
