69RR non console 4spd shifter boot bezel. Original has 8 screws and all I’m finding is like 4 screw ones. Am I not looking in the right place? I’ll have my original re chromed if need be. Thanks peeps.
If it's in good shape, have it rechromed. Small parts aren't cheap but it might be worth it.
It looks like all the holes in yours are chamfered so the screw heads are countersunk. It's not like someone just drilled extra holes.I’m lucky to have a good friend that does chrome plating and such. I went to a show last month and there was a couple 4spd cars with four screw bezels and I couldn’t stop looking at them
4 screws on all trim bezels I have seen and owned. Never ever saw 8 hole trim bezels and I doubt you will find oneMost likely something to that but I do believe it is original to the car and maybe a factory goof up. There is a pn of 295007-53495 on the ring. Extra holes in hump appear even/round and factory drilled.
Did all non console cars have eight holes in the hump and just use four screws? Maybe that’s the deal.
I think you are misunderstanding what you have. Like stated above, a non-console boot has 8 holes. It goes between the metal hump and the carpet. It is held to the body with 4 screws. Then the chrome trim ring, held on with 4 chrome screws, covers up the ragged carpet edge. These 4 screws go through the extra 4 in the bottom boot. Most likely something to that but I do believe it is original to the car and maybe a factory goof up.
