This reminds me of my buddy Jerry's car. Sounds like a similar paint scheme, but his has a black interior. It is an over restored museum piece now.

It may not have the value of a car with original engine, but a 383 car is not on the same planet as a 6-pack V car. I concur, as previously posted, for original as possible. A white top Charger in any color is a work of art.

It's your car. Do whatever you want with it. It is missing the original drive train anyway so it will never be worth total top dollar. Paint it whatever color you want & drive & enjoy the hell out of it.

Voted to keep it the original color, but I kind of like that hue. The wife talked me into painting my 69 Charger black, black int., black vinyl top, and matte black rump stripe. She just loves it and it draws more attention that any car I have owned, but I don't particularly care for it. One of the reasons being how much a pain in the a$$ it is to keep clean.

I would never buy another black car (unless it was a SCREAMING good deal) let alone paint one black. A nightmare to get straight enough and a nightmare to keep clean.
At one time i had three black cars at one time, none garage kept. By the time i finished washing the third one ,the first one was dirty again.
Besides, the burnt orange is uncommon, i like it ,and its a v-code car! ( yes, it's worth a lot more than a h code car, an h acode car with a 440-6 is just a swap, yours with a 440-6 is the way it's supposed to be).

Thanks to everyone so far for your input and votes! This Vcode will have it's odd paint combo and even the wire wheel covers that the build sheet shows. My buddy is also pleased to see that some like the black combo/burnt orange interior idea! We both agree that the black paint will be "interesting" to keep clean and will test our combined talents in getting a car prepped for paint, but sometimes you need a challenge. I'll be posting a Restoration Thread for my VCode in the near future. Looking forward to future thoughts.
