Been poking around on this site for a while now,,but just now regestered to add to this thread. I have a 73 road runner which I am pro touring over on the site. But have been thinking about adding a wing to it. Been studing on how to mount it the the trunk area. I made one for my 69 super bee years ago out of sheet metal..but the trunk quaters on the 73 is alot narrower. Worried about not having enough area for the wing base. BUT I really like the looks of the double wing and reading threw this thread...I'm back to really considering the wing. I don't like the idea of trunk lid mounting, but have also noticed on my car that the truck lid will hit the wing when open. So that is anoughter thing that I am checking into. About what top do about that. Didn't know there as so much interest in the wings for other people , I just might have to make pattern's off mine so as to make more for other's.

Welcome 73Rattler I agree with you about the wing mount. I did not like the trunk mounting but with the limited faburator I am that was my only hope. The guy thats doing mine is adjusting the wing I bought to mount to quarters. He is bracing the inside of trunk like the superbird. The trunk I think will hit the wing when opened. He is putting a stop so it will open only to the wing. I hope to have some pictures soon to post. Also there is a lot of people that like the wing and a lot more that don't. To each there own, I don't care what people think. I hope you do it and post pictures!

I have been looking for one myself that would fit a 73-74 since the body line is a little different than the 71-72. Dayclona use to sell them but it doesn't look like they do anymore.

Aaaand...back in the day, when it was thought that the wing cars would be available in '71, a model car was released for it. MPC had a 1971 road runner kit that could be built both stock and as a wing car. I found one for sale on the bay...

The nose is a bit hokey on that model, but it builds a very nice 71 RR, with opening air grabber.

I know not a b body but my weekend project. dropping in a 440 in my shop truck. while I wait for the the real deal to get some pictures!
