73 Roadrunner 340 Auto

Fenders and valances are put away and the hood and trunk lid are up next. These are the last major pieces, then just hinges, mirrors, and such.

Wow! Very nice. It's really coming along now. Any chance on posting a few more pics of your wort chiller? I'm intrigued and thinking about trying it.

No Problem. I am work right now but as soon as I get home I will post some more pics of it.

ct71rr,
As it is set, next to the compressor. Black hose is hot compressor outlet into the wort and red hose is wort outlet to tools, etc. Right after the chiller I have a regular water separator and just after that I have a pressure regulator with a water separator. Last photo is the wort without any ice water. The coil is spread open slightly to allow ice to get inside the coil. I usually add a big bag of ice and then add water until the wort is an inch or two under ice water. The water helps this heat exchanger as it puts more cold in direct contact with the copper of the wort than ice alone. I got the 50' wort for around $60 on CL and it was advertised as 1/2" but is actually a little smaller, maybe 3/8" ID but so are my hoses, so all is good. Cooler was all of $15

DONE DONE DONE Just finished the last major pieces. Only things left to paint are small stuff like mirrors, hood springs, door hinges, and assorted latches/bolts. Can finally take down the plastic, fans, filters, and all the the associated pieces parts and get my shop cleaned up.

Just stopped in for a visit to get an update, looks great with all that hard work, time and money. Congratulations and sure hope you are feeling back to normal after getting sick, all the best for 2021 and hope you get to drive it with in a year.

Blew out and cleaned the main brake line, the fuel line, and the fuel return/vent line. Also prepped the car for a respray of the undercoating (that stuff gets everywhere). Underside is in great shape, brake and fuel lines were like new so they will stay. The front brake lines and over the axle lines will get changed out. Just waiting on some body plugs from Detroit Muscle Technologies (really nice people to deal with) before I can spray the undercoating.

Took today off so I could get some work done on this. Being pulled in too many directions.
It was a factory undercoated car and they actually did a pretty good job so I just cleaned up a couple of loose pieces and resprayed it. Unlike the factory stuff, this dries to a thick rubber like coating which will not run or chip. Three part mix and then add the kevlar for the texture. Spray with a hopper. I know some people don't like the undercoated look, but that is what it came with, so I am okay with it.

Couple of spots to touch up and I'm done with it.

Finishing up the last few small pieces. Like the entire project , anything painted was stripped to bare metal, including all the pot metal pieces. Still have the driver remote mirror to do but I have to figure out how best to take it apart so that it can still be put back together. One bite at a time, a little further every day I keep telling myself.

I could not get the remote mirror to come apart without breaking the "pot metal" holding tabs so I just disassembled it to a point that I could sand and prime it. The rest of the parts are now in epoxy.

More pieces turned to Lemon Twist and left to age (at the rate I am going). Did order the brake lines this evening.

Looking good, you have got a lot done, it will be nice to see the finished car, thank you again for all those pics, it has helped me working on my 73.

I remember having a little play in the driver side door hinge and the spring was missing. Did not really like the pin kits I saw on line so I did this instead.

The original pressed pin

Drilled out the center to remove the head.

Separated the head from the pin and drove the pin out.

Welded up the play around the pin hole and then re-drilled the pin hole

Drilled out the upper hole just big enough to allow the pin serrations to catch and drove it home.

CONTINUED;
Then I took the button I had removed earlier and put it back on the pin and welded it in place.

Was not that hard and I think it turned out a little more "factory" looking than the pin and bushing kits.

Wow! Excellent job on that. Everything’s coming along nicely!

Nice progress! I just finished testing my wort cooler for air leaks. I used 3/8” refrig line to save some money. I’m going to test it out tomorrow:

More bolts were dug out of bags and sprayed but this time with the mini gun (.6 tip) as the normal gun put too much primer, sealer, paint, and CC on. Too easy to crack the paint when tightening the bolts.

This little HF $10 gun works just fine for the bolts and small pieces.

Was able to clean up the filler neck

And with the wife's help, we were able to install the fuel tank and fuel lines.
