9.999 Time Slip (Goal)

You can take it to a truck scale and have it weighed. Won’t need to wait.

Agree with 5.7. You could weigh yourself before you and get a weigh with you on the scale and with you off the scale. Would give some idea how accurate scale is.

Wondering what kind of weight difference there would be between a leaf spring / cal trac verses a ladder bar set up?

I did this , it was real easy to do, 68 Charger 4050 with me, it cost $11.50. they even gave me the front & rear weight

Not sure about the truck scales, Talk to justin
My goal is 3300 lbs empty, no gas, no driver...I wont be able to weigh it until Oct when NHRA has the scales setup at the NHRA Hot Rod Reunion Race in October at Famoso (Bakersfield).
If I can get the car close to 3300lbs, empty, I am sure I can cut a 9.99, or less time slip if the adjusted altitude is in the range of 1000' in October, which it should be.
Mike have the car 4 corner scaled, it'll show you your front to back weight distribution & corner to corner, my satellite is 51 front and 49 rear percentage, @ 3630 with me in the car @ 215

With the very little experience with CT's (actually more than I care to have had lol), I feel that the better your weight bias is, the better the CT's will work but if you are front end heavy and do not see it improving, I feel the ladders will be a better choice.

Yes, ladder bars sure have my interest these days, that's for sure. There's lots of complete kits out there I'm seeing too. I have to wonder if there are some kits better than others though. They all look to be the same approx lengths, 32 to 34".

Mine are S&W, 36". Don't give up on the Cal Tracks. They are a good system. Plenty of fast cars with them.

Thanks Doug. Doing my best to figure them out. Hopefully soon.

That means I have to load up the car on my trailer, drive 50 miles to the nearest truck scale, unload the car, weigh it, load it back up and drive 50 miles back home....too much work for my 76 year old body frame...LOL

The first thing that comes to mind for me is this...
Are you sure the scales are correct?

I have 2 coronets. The car I drive is a 66. It weighs 3480 with me in it before I add weight to move it to an index. It has a glass hood, bumpers and deck lid. The 1/4 glass in mine is lexan due to a mechanism breaking. So I pulled them out. Mine at the time of scaling was a stock block 499 with aluminum heads. DVW can vouch for this part, our NSS cars are far from gutted.

My other car is a 67 coronet wagon. It has a fiberglass hood. The rest is metal. It weighs 3775 with me in it. Its a stock block 440 with aluminum heads.
