A little road trip this last weekend

My 55 Chevy gasser buddy got a bug up his *** about a Challenger and landed on a disassembled 70 outside of Reno. the trip became more complex than going to pick up a car but it was a fun adventure nonetheless. Since we were going to get the car with an empty trailer, the Challenger owner asked if we could bring up a Jeep from his son's place and he'd knock $200.00 off he price of the car. We said sure. It turns out the Jeep was a near museum piece Korean war vet that was stored in the hull of a ship for many years (as opposed to some late model Cherokee SUV). And it's complete with .50 CAL gun with dummy ammo, flags, camo, radio, etc... Needless to say we got some thumbs up on the way to Reno.

70 Challenger is a 383 2 BBL car and not rusted out.

He wants to build the Challenger into a street driver and add A/C (as ordered by his wife). This thing has some great parts including the hood, rallye dash, added console and the original seats can be wiped down and put in as is. Plus it's a 70 so major bonus points there.

I tried to talk Charlie into riding in the Jeep with gun mounted and goggles on but thought the CHP might have frowned on such activity.

That does sound like a very cool adventure man, and to get the "not rusted out" Challenger is just as cool Sue says.. she wants one, or a 71! maybe someday... Now you know you'll be even busier helping him out with this!!!

You got that right! I've been helping him with the 55 Chevy and now planning the engine build (on a budget). He'll be broke for a while after buying that Challenger! Tel Sue she has good taste in cars!

That's the 1st thing I thought of too... I've been watching it on MyTv, MeTv or ThisTv, anyway one of them old show late night 50's & 60's reruns channels, nights when I can't sleep very well...
