"I called to check my ZIP code..."

These commercials are scam artists at work trying to phrase things in a way that the elderly think they are missing out on additional gov't provided medicare things because they forgot to fill out the right form.

But, I did start using the "I called to check my ZIP code..." line on my family any time an opportunity came up.
Example:
Wife: "Should we call for (usually pizza) takeout?"
Me: "Sure, I will do it"
Get phone, pretend to push buttons
Me: "Hi... yes I would like to order some pizza. I would like two large pepperoni...... yes that is right.... oh and I would like to check my ZIP code..."
Wife: (throws couch pillow at me)
 
How about ads for those apps that find subscriptions you forgot about?

My current fave is this one, with the stand up comic-

Someone is spending 18K A MONTH on subscriptions they don't know about??

...and that is 980 bucks less than they spend on average??

18K is $216,000 a year

The same tone deaf, NO talent hack is still singing the BS jingles for Burger King and I continue to boycott them.
I hate this crap. I either MUTE the TV or fast forward through the ad if I can. I love the Burger King Whopper but refuse to give them a nickel until they stop these crappy ads.
 
I totally Agree,I hate his voice and the jingle Sucks, I mute or change the channel as fast as i can. I do not care for the Whopper (too much filler in the beef).I like their Ice cream when the machine isn't broken. Hardees for the win ! or Carl's Jr. depending on location !
 
I'm watching ION on free digital. MacGyver, and it's like five minutes of show and ten minutes of adds. As far as adds go, they are all annoying.
