Besides the A12 cars, curious if anyone owns an automatic car that was ordered with the Dana instead of 8 3/4? Supposedly it was possible but I've never run across one.

My 69 R/T was a factory dana car with an auto. I believe in 69 it was a track pack car as opposed to the super track pack car of 70. I think I have the tag? I believe A32 code IIRC? Not really an option, but a axle package.

The A32 Super Performance axle was available in 69-70. In '71 they called it the Super Track Pack.

You got the 4:10 Dana behind the 440 or Hemi with Automatic. Available in B and E bodies. It's not a common option but you can find it out there.

I took the question as just ordering a dana over a 8 3/4, not getting a performance axle package.

Thanks guys that's exactly what I was wondering about. I recalled from a Govier article years ago that an auto car with Dana was quite uncommon and wondered about the documentation around it. I figured for sure it would show on a broadcast sheet but was not certain about fender tag. Anyway, cool to know a few are out there, keep posting them if you've got one!

ONLY available in the axle packages, not as a stand alone option.

My 4.10 Dana 60 came out of a 69 Super Bee. I seen them also from the factory in the R/T's,

Got that it was part of an axle package option, that is still optional equipment. I'm curious how many are out here and what documentation there is around them.

No way to know how many are out there.

I'm not sure I understand the second part of your post. What do you mean by 'documentation there is around them'?

my 70 hemi challenger and 70 hemi cuda were both factory automatics with a ordered dana 60 rear.

Yes, but both of them were axle package cars too weren't they???

I think what the original poster is trying to determine is how many were built or how many original cars with the automatic axle package cars exist and if they have been proven (documented to be real.) It seems he is trying to determine if he has something "rare" as so many do these days. There is no way to tell how many automatic axle package cars were built or currently exist and I don't feel that the numbers in themselves would add any real value from a rarity stand point, but the cars with the option auto or manual trans are of course more desirable.

My '69 GTX came with the Super Performance Axle Package. I think the reason the dana's only came with the packages was to get the hd cooling and brakes to cut down on warrenty claims.

My purpose was only to shine some light on this combo auto & Dana that is not that common. From this thread I've already learned ( as I suspect others too now) that the A32 package netted the dana and 4:10s plus the additional items. I realize we'll never get a real number about how many, etc., but the guy that ordered that combo was out to do some serious racing...makes it pretty interesting to me. We also know the A32 shows on the fender tag, which sometimes varies by production plant but you never know if others also have grease markings or other documentation. This thread has been answering my question...thanks

BTW to badblack68 my 68 GTXs Dana has the drain plug. Not sure when that changed later.

Here's a rare one. 69 Coronet R/T vert., auto with the A32 package and power windows! Wish I had the $$$ to make a deal on it!!

I have a 70 sport satellite that is a auto with a dana 60

Oh really? I would like to see either the fender tag or broadcast sheet for that car proving it. The largest engine available in that car was a 383-4 and the axles pakages with the Dana 60s was only available with the 440 HP or Hemi. Your car certainly didn't come from the factory with that rear end.
