Would it be "FJO", "FCJO", "FXJO", "FAMCO", "FWO" or other? It would be nice to see a Jeep forum here! I’m on a couple of other Jeep forums but nothing beats our FBBO !
Since you're swapping toI am having some mild overheating issues with my xj which I hear is very common.
One was my temp sender on thermostat housing was bad, fixed that now my electric fan comes on. Nice!!
Next very minor leak in plastic radiator tank so I am upgrading to a Mishimoto one. Warranty is great and made in USA.
Of course this snowballs into fan clutch is all wet like oil leaking. Do it now!!
I hope this does the trick.
Summer is upon us.
Adjusting the valves on my R/T will have wait tell next week. View attachment 1683167
I did try the flush and my system must clean because it drained out very clean and did a couple freeze plugs awhile back and block looked good for 300,000 .My 96 has the same, I did a prestone flush, careful if you try the block plug. After the treatment it stayed a click over 200 going slow.
Hate to say it, but change your water pump since you're draining anyway, especially if it's an original unit.
Do you believe in water wetter?Since you're swapping to
a aluminum rad, don't forget
the Water Wetter.
Yep.Do you believe in water wetter?
I am just skeptical of that type stuff.
Are you sticking with stock 4.0?
I had a 94 jeep Cherokee, country. Bought it new and 6 years later the plastic radiator took a dump. It was so dried out, the nipple for the overflow hose on the neck fell off. It went through thermostat every other year like clock work. Had a 2004 grand Cherokee, rocky mountain edition, 4.0. 2006 wrangler sport, 1998 Sahara and two Camanches, 1988 and a 1991. I had a lot of luck with that 4.0. Engine and never a tranmission failure. The 98 had a 2 inch lift kit, springs and shocks. I think the only thing that I needed was the shifter extension kit for the transfer case. If I remember, more than 2 inches it becomes more of a job.I am having some mild overheating issues with my xj which I hear is very common.
