Anyone do a Cam swap in a 71-72 B-body while engine still in car?

Just asking for some advice. The front of the car seems so long.. will the cam just straight in just removing the front of the grill?

More than enough room if you pull the radiator and AC condenser if equipped.

Yea, it has air, radiator. Transmission cooler, all kinds of stuff in the way. A little nervous one piece at a time I guess.
What did you use to hold the camshaft as you were sliding through?

I use a long bolt threaded into the front of the cam and a finger to center it in the valley between bearings.

Can you get a degree wheel in there to degree the cam? Or is there a different method you can use? I have a dial indicator to get TDC, but? Thats about it.

Any thoughts?
