Anyone heard from @deltaV

He lives much closer to the coast than I do!! Man, hope he's ok.....
We need to exchange phone numbers. It might not do any good with so much electricity and cell phone service that is out.

Hopefully he is doing well and let's us know he is ok soon. Lots of people with no power, No internet and cell reception. Wife and I were waiting to hear from a friend for a few days she lives in Tryon North Carolina with Asheville above her and not far from Lake Lure. She finally got back to us this afternoon said all is good, her horses and her place is fine but No power, internet or phones.. Said spotty service just happened today. Prayers for all involved so much damage and devastation. Here is what it did to Lake Lure..

Lake Lure filled with debris from storm in North Carolina
The first time to see that pic of Lake Lure I thought it was a valley where flood waters rushed through and left all that debris in it's wake.....

Using edge and I can write now. nothing in avatar. Wayne thanked me in 3 PMs yesterday . Glad he is good.

I cleared cookies and did not fix it for me. I use firefox its a no go on that

I cleared my cache for last 4 weeks and it fixed it for me (Chrome). Thanks to another thread on the site for that tip.

Glad Delta is good!

Wayne has been emailing me recently (and for several years now actually) about his situation.

Currently he has no power, and it is not due to be repaired until 5th of October. That is the estimate from Georgia Power.
He has a lot of fallen trees in the area, and driving is hazardous, but doable if necessary. His emails get through to me when he able to get cell phone service by driving closer to town.

Obviously, his cell service has been drastically affected also.....so he will be back, and probably by the end of the week....fingers crossed.

Gas situation is bad - as Wayne needs to run a generator to maintain the home.....this from his email....

Some gas stations are out of gas and some are saying you can't fill up gas cans. I filled my 5 gallon containers early this morning (20 gallons). Filled 2 yesterday morning and 4 this morning.

Hopefully his area is restored soon, and we can get him back to normality. Although with the devastation wreaked upon local infrastructure....I think normality is a wee way off yet.

"Normal" isn't even in the plans for a lot of the SE right now; some of this will take years to recover from.
Parts of six states have literally been obliterated...

I hope it gets better for him soon, good guys need help
& he's one of them

We miss you Wayne, hold the home fort down...

Glad to hear he's "OK". Musk's Star Link not helping him? I wouldn't know how to use it. I had to ask to be told empty cookies & cache.:BangHead:

I just had another email come through from Wayne in the last hour. He is still soldiering on with trying to get back to normal. No sign of power getting hooked up yet, and he still needs to travel to get internet reception.

It makes me wonder how many other members are in a similar situation.

Wayne asked if the members were behaving themselves in his absence.
I told him for the most part yes......so you guys need to be good and not make me a liar.

Hopefully we will see Wayne back in a couple of days - or maybe next week.

@DeltaV

I saw you poking around the forum earlier...

No internet. I have fiber.

4G LTE popped up as active and I jumped on and then it died. Popped up again a few minutes ago. Horribly slow loading.

Lost power on September 27 around 01:00 eastern time. It's still out. The last update from Georgia Power was on October 1st and they said restoration of power by 22:00 on Saturday, October 5th...that would be late today. I'm not holding my breath. I am in the boonies.

A friend from Florida sent this earlier today:
