The first time to see that pic of Lake Lure I thought it was a valley where flood waters rushed through and left all that debris in it's wake.....Hopefully he is doing well and let's us know he is ok soon. Lots of people with no power, No internet and cell reception. Wife and I were waiting to hear from a friend for a few days she lives in Tryon North Carolina with Asheville above her and not far from Lake Lure. She finally got back to us this afternoon said all is good, her horses and her place is fine but No power, internet or phones.. Said spotty service just happened today. Prayers for all involved so much damage and devastation. Here is what it did to Lake Lure..
Lake Lure filled with debris from storm in North Carolina

Some gas stations are out of gas and some are saying you can't fill up gas cans. I filled my 5 gallon containers early this morning (20 gallons). Filled 2 yesterday morning and 4 this morning.
"Normal" isn't even in the plans for a lot of the SE right now; some of this will take years to recover from.Wayne has been emailing me recently (and for several years now actually) about his situation.
Currently he has no power, and it is not due to be repaired until 5th of October. That is the estimate from Georgia Power.
He has a lot of fallen trees in the area, and driving is hazardous, but doable if necessary. His emails get through to me when he able to get cell phone service by driving closer to town.
Obviously, his cell service has been drastically affected also.....so he will be back, and probably by the end of the week....fingers crossed.
Gas situation is bad - as Wayne needs to run a generator to maintain the home.....this from his email....
Hopefully his area is restored soon, and we can get him back to normality. Although with the devastation wreaked upon local infrastructure....I think normality is a wee way off yet.
