Got a 3D printer for Christmas and love it! I've been making all kinds of origanizers for my toolbox and starting to design things in TinkerCad. I tought myself AutoCad years ago and now am lost. lol
Just wondering what everyone has made for their Mopars

 Subscribed.

I don't have a 3D printer, but I am getting more and more interested in getting one. If I could scan old Mopar parts and then print them out to replace or repair certain areas, that would be really cool. I'm interested to learn more about costs and what can be done.

I have a buddy that has one and makes all kinds of stuff... a lot of it for bowling... He uses Freecad to design.. made me a part i needed for one of my drums and couldn't get... the printer comes in handy.

Would be interesting to see if someone could 3d print the 62 mopar speaker dash grill :)

The guy at the restoration shop I use has one. He’s working on printing a radiator overflow bottle for me. I’ll let you know.

I've got one. Just don't have time to do anything with it but when I need something unique it's handy! I have the flexible filament too for bushing type parts .

I saw a guy made dash knobs for a sweptline pickup and maybe backup light lenses? There was also a guy doing push button trans delete panels, heater delete panels, and radio delete panels but I think he's retired now.

I play with it, even sold cassette racks I printed on Etsy for awhile. Most recently I printed my dash panel in PLA to prototype it, planned to then have it printed in ABS but ended up using it as a template to cut up an ABS sheet. So it was indirectly used to create a part.

My brother is very creative with his 'Bender' 3D. he made some 3D 1958 Fuel injection emblems prototype. Here is an original.

I am planning on retiring in the fall, and I thought getting a 3D printer would be an interesting hobby that could be used for car stuff. I am only semi computer literate, so that could be a problem.

You can do it, I'm very computer literate but when I bought a 3d printer and jumped in it didn't really exercise that part of my brain. It was more the creative and practical good with my hands sides of the brain. Then I just used a really simple website called tinkercad to put the idea into a computer.

There’s some videos on YouTube of people making pressing molds for sheet metal replacement parts. I’ve been thinking of buying one for a while now. Just haven’t pulled the trigger yet.

I've had an interest for awhile, I just bought this book to see what I can learn:

But what has slowed me down so far is that most of the affordable ($500-600 range) seem limited for the size of object that you can print, usually around six to eight inches square. I'd want something that would be large enough to make something useful to me, like a whole tail-light housing or custom radio surround piece.

I paid $450 in 2017 for one with a print bed around 12x12 inches. Its gotta be less now, do you need something larger than that?
Mine is the Hictop Creality CR-10.

You got a good deal. I don't think they make that printer any longer, the cheapest on the Creality web site is the K1 which prints 220 mm (8 1/2").
I think this has the 300 by 300 build plate for under $450. Probably what I would look at getting if my current printer died.
Here
I think I cleaned up the link

I just found an Ender-3 V3 Plus printer locally at $499 Cdn. It has the 300X300 (12X12) build plate. Is that a decent hobby machine?
