Just wanted to give an update since it's been a while. (Had some personal BS to deal w/ the last few months)
Purchased a set of 77929's (std port w/ valves) brand new in box from a shop in SoCal via ebay for $680 each. Ebay was running a special on their 'ebay bucks' when I bought them which then allowed me to buy a set of ARP bolts for ~$15. Also picked up a Victor intake from Advance Auto Parts during one of their 20% off + $50 toward a future purchase promos - so $215ish + tax...and $50 for a battery or something in the future.
Still replacing the footwells and doing some tunnel mods to fit the TKO as time allows, but did spend a few hours the last couple nights cleaning up the plenum of the intake. I thought Edelbrock's claim to fame was their stuff was made in the US? This thing looked like dog crap.
The heads, on the other hand, look really nice. Bought some sacrificial valves to blend the chambers into the top cut on the seats, plan to back-cut the intake valves and smooth the ports/guide boss's a bit...no major reshaping. Once I get farther along I'll probably start a dedicated thread concerning the whole build.
