Anyone want to buy Neil Armstrong's old Vette?

It's neat that GM gave corvettes to the astronauts back in the 19760's, and Neil Armstrong is probably the most famous US astronaut... so I bet this will go for some pretty big money.

I'm not a corvette fan by any means, and us mopar fans are pretty used to mopar cars topping out at $200k, but a friend of mine has several original race shelby cobras that go for over a million bucks... so the money is out and it's a massive reminder that some cars can easily pull in the big money.

Would I want the vette for $250+? Nope.

Hell theres are Vettes that sell for near that or even more, with out the star power of Astronaut Neil Armstrong's 67 390hp 427ci... I've had a couple mid 60's BB Vette's, but "Not me buying anything anywhere near, in that range"... I'm just saying it happens though, look at all the resto-mod & pro-touring mid 60's Vette's on Barret Jackson & the Mid 65-66-67 Big Block Vette's go for $150k done right & some "tri-power" 435hp 427ci 4sd 67 convertibles going for $200k...

ANY 1967 Muscle car owned by Neil is probably gonna sell for 25K. It's not just the car more important who was the original owner. A piece of history.

It would be cool to own Neil Armstrong's car, but no matter what it is still just a Corvette...

Tis after all, American history w/ an American car!

Pretty cool...

Could be legit enough to take a trip if you're a vette guy/gal.

for that kind of $$$, i would buy the ever-elusive '70 Birdable!!! :book1:

in BLUE of course!! :toothy12: *ahem*

I see it doesn't have the correct carb. Forget it. I'm not buying it.

A friend of mine has an all original 69 Camaro SS appraised at over $250,000. It was used as a pace car in the 69 indy 500 (not a replica), his dad used to race stock cars and bought it back in the day. He's not afraid to drive it either! There was a memorial race for his dad at the local track last year and they brought it out as the pace car for the night.

I heard a "story" that ALL but one of those original "7" had vettes.
Gordon Cooper opted for a 66 Ford Failrlane, white with a 427. supposedly it was NASTY...
I had been to Coca Beach (Patrick AFB) in the early 80s with ARIA (USAF).
I can not imagine what it was like in the mid 60s! Must have been a magical place and a magical time.
