Anyone want to rate a combo? Street/strip car

Just scored a M1 intake also. Going to try that out to see if I get more top end power.

That is awesome!
What about the rear tires? Do you put slicks on at the track?

I drive on these Hoosier 30 x 9 radial slicks on the street. I have been driving these radial slicks on the street for about 8 years now. I just bleed the pressure down to about 16 psi when I get to the track. Even been caught in the rain twice and just took it real easy and made it home fine. I want to run a drag radial but I like the 30 x 9 size as I want the 30" tall tire to keep my cruising rpm where I like it but I don't want any wider then 10" in my stock wheelwells so they wont rub on sharp turns. And every drag radial that's 30" tall is 12" wide or more. I love the 30 x 9 size since my springs are not moved and I run the stock wheelwell. That size tire fits great and don't rub and hooks fine at the track. I have even been stopped by the Police a few times and they just wanted to see the car and have not hassled me at all about the slicks. Ron

I’ve done plenty of street driving with mysicks this year. Partly because I like the look and vibe, partly because I’m too lazy to change them out. I’ve had a police officer directly behind me.... no issues. I think it’s one of those things that they would add to the ticket if you were doing something stupid, but as long as you’re driving mellow, I doubt most cops will pull you over for it.

I’ll likely be forced to do more of it now, as I just went to a set of M/T PBR’s, and even without air, they are a bear to get into and out of my 67 fender wells.

Just put a loop and torque strap on the car yesterday and Caltrac bars and springs today. Car leaves pretty good now!

I've been following this thread. Any track time slips yet?? I see the 7.70 1/8th with a different cam.

None yet. I got busy with work after pulling the motor to swap the cam and some other stuff. It's back together and running good now. I'll run it next week or the week after!
